Chapitre 185: Chapter 185 - Mak'Gora

"Wuwuwu---" The melodious sound of the horn, like it came from beyond the sky or the ancient times.

Desolate yet majestic.

It reminded people of the world covered in yellow sand, of the days when they had to fight the most ferocious beasts in extremely harsh environments in exchange for the survival of their people.

Kill or be killed.

The weak had no right to survive, the strong ruled everything.

This was the primal sound that stirred countless memories hidden in the hearts of orcs.

How many years had it been since they last heard this sound?

[Mak'Gora]

Orcs all knew that when a warrior challenged a chieftain to take his place, he used the most sacred duel ritual, [Mak'Gora].

One on one!

The victor takes all!

Few people knew that this [Mak'Gora], used by orcs to settle disputes and decide the ownership of the chieftain position, could also be used against hostile races.

Of course, there was a prerequisite.

"Blackhand, the Warchief of the Horde! I, Duke, represent King Llane Wrynn of Stormwind, who is also the chieftain you see, to challenge you to a Mak'Gora! Do you dare to accept?!" Duke's voice echoed through the night sky of most of Stormwind. It was unclear whether it was magic or something else, but this shout in orcish language allowed the ten thousand orcs who had invaded Stormwind to hear it loud and clear.

Blackhand and Orgrim, with their guards, walked on the streets of the old district of Stormwind. Their bodies suddenly trembled.

Mak'Gora!?

Humans actually knew about Mak'Gora?

Almost instantly, Orgrim cursed fiercely in his mind: It's that despicable traitor Garona again!

Duke's voice continued: "Our human king is different from your Horde chieftain. Our king is not the first warrior. It doesn't matter. Our king and the first warrior are both here. As long as you defeat our first warrior Anduin Lothar in Mak'Gora, our king's head and hands are yours! We are waiting for you at the Pillar of Light!"

Blackhand's huge rocky hand happened to be leaning on a thick stone pillar on the roadside, and almost unconsciously exerted his strength. The entire stone pillar was easily crushed by his immense grip, and the hard stone exploded like hardened flour, scattering all over the ground.

The focus of all the orc's gazes fell on Blackhand's face.

"Chieftain?" Orgrim tentatively asked.

Blackhand's ugly face muscles trembled continuously, and his thick blood vessels appeared like whiskers on his face, which was red due to extreme excitement. Blackhand could feel flames pumping out of his heart, spreading to every corner of his body and reaching every cell in his body.

"Hahaha!" Blackhand laughed wantonly, "Orcs never fear challenges! No matter who Varian is, or who Anduin is! Their heads are all mine - all mine - "

Orgrim immediately understood and shouted loudly to the side: "Send out the chieftain's order - the chieftain has decided to accept the human's Mak'Gora and prohibit attacks on humans near the Pillar of Light!"

The messengers scattered, and soon the rough and harsh shouts of the messengers could be heard everywhere.

"Chieftain accepts Mak'Gora, and prohibits attacking humans near the Pillar of Light!"

"Let's go!" The clouds dispersed, and the moonlight shone on the ground, complemented by the flickering flames of torches, which cast a pale and eerie shadow on the huge dragon bone shoulder pads worn by the Warchief.

Meanwhile, in the Cathedral Square of Stormwind, King Llane Wrynn was seated on a red velvet throne with gold trimmings, which was placed on a nine-level stone staircase. Anduin Lothar and Bolvar Fordragon stood on both sides of the king, donned in armor and standing at attention.

"Will the Orcish Warchief really come?" Bolvar had asked Duke for the third time.

"That's enough, Bolvar. Duke's analysis can't be wrong. The Orcish Warchief, who seeks personal glory above all else, won't miss this opportunity." King Llane gently admonished his loyal subject.

Anduin Lothar, standing with his sword, seemed more relaxed. "Don't worry, we're not far from the Stormwind Harbor. Our soldiers are behind us. If tens of thousands of troops can't protect the king's safety and help him escape, then we might as well commit suicide."

Of course, the Orcs couldn't find the main force of the humans. The last group of more than forty thousand civilians had quietly gathered near the Stormwind Harbor.

Tens of thousands of people, yet there was hardly any sound, as if a giant beast lurked in the darkness.

Not every soldier knew about the arrangements made by the upper echelons. They only received a notification that special means would be used to arrange their retreat.

As for what special means were used, no one knew. Many people stared blankly at the large piles of hay stacked up near the harbor.

The last long-distance ship had already left in the afternoon.

The soldiers scratched their heads, unable to figure out how the evacuation plan would work.

Fortunately, since they were ordered to stay behind, these soldiers were mentally prepared to fight to the death.

However, it was not favorable for the humans to fight the Orcs in this wide open space between the cathedral district's walls and the harbor. Moreover, the soldiers had no heavy weapons at hand.

If they fought the Orcs here, it would be almost a one-sided massacre.

General Tom Simons, who had met Duke before, did everything he could, arranging heavy infantry with shields and spear infantry backing up against the sea, towards the direction of Stormwind.

"If the Orcs come... at least we can hold out for a while." General Simons murmured to himself.

When the long and drawn-out horn sounded in the Eastern District of Stormwind, King Llane, Anduin Lothar, and Bolvar all looked up at Duke.

Duke smiled faintly, "The Orcish Warchief Blackhand has accepted your challenge, Lothar."

Lothar's handsome and resolute face was also smiling, and he glanced at King Llane. King Llane nodded heavily, "Go! Anduin, my life and the future of the Kingdom of Stormwind are in your hands."

Lothar bowed deeply and turned to Duke, "Well, I admire you sometimes. You learned Orcish so quickly, as well as their customs. Ga-... that assassin and I studied Orcish for so long, and we can only speak a few words."

Duke grinned mischievously, "I found a lot of Orcish books in Karazhan. I've read a lot, I won't lie to you."

There were no Orcish books in Karazhan at all, and Duke was lying through his teeth.

Lothar had no idea, "Okay, I'll rely on you for the translation later."
