I Want To Read The Unreadable
It has been three months since I was born.
Nearly two months passed since that event, where I got many rewards. And I got all of them totally for free!
But my happiness didn't last long as all of their effects were locked the moment they were mine. But of course, the first effect was always open for me to train and improve.
And speaking of training, I have spent these two months mainly training my mental abilities.
And things started to become rather easy for me by now.
Of course, the first one should be my first naturally awakened mental ability - Mind Link.
I mainly used it with my brother, and since my brother was always, I mean always around me, I have no choice but to talk and play with him.
Maybe that's why, my proficiency using Mind Link increased tremendously.
Before I could only talk to linked people in a 3-meter radius. But now the range has increased to 30 meters. 10 times more, awesome, right? Well, I exactly didn't know the length since neither I, who was stuck on this bed, nor my brother, who didn't know how to measure length couldn't know it.
But thanks to my unique status window, I was able to know my limits.
Then again, my limit to link with others was three when I first awakened it. But now it reached ten. Although this may seem lower than the range, it's more difficult to link with other minds and maintain the link, that's why I am satisfied with this progress. Besides it has been just two months.
And I also tried to speak to him with just my mental power, instead of using my ability. As I previously mentioned in the Mental Ascension System, one can learn how to speak to others via their mental power. But after passing through the 6th level of the Mind Awakening Realm of course.
And it worked out perfectly, yeah, I succeeded on my first try. Maybe I was used to it, or it was just easy. But I prefer using my ability as I can improve it the more I use it.
And the next one is the ability I unlocked thanks to the Youngest Awakener title. The Mind Scan.
At first, when I used it on my lab r-I mean brother, I could barely sense vague emotions. It took me two weeks to finally sense his real emotion.
Four days ago, nearly two months, I started to feel his all emotions when he was around me. But I must say, he is always happy. I mean always. Except when he hears the voice of the Head Main, the middle-aged lady.
He is really scared of her somehow and I have a hunch why. But I didn't mean she was a bad or evil type of maid. She is just strict, yeah, very strict. She 'wants' us to follow all the rules in the house. Which I or my brother never did. (The exception is if there is a guest in the house.)
Well, back to the abilities, I tried to use Mind Scan on Hazel out of curiosity. No, it wasn't a joke or prank. Just out of curiosity.
But all these two months, all of my attempts failed pitifully. No matter how many times I tried, I wasn't able to do it. Maybe she was a D-rank Awakener so her mental resilience was way higher than my child brother.
Well, I could easily know what she was feeling from her expressions. It could be said I became a master at reading her expressions.
So, my mood was stable even though I failed.
And there is a reason why I want to improve this ability to the max.
I want to 'read' the 'unreadable' people.
I have met many people like that in my memories.
They would say one thing but feel and think the opposite. It fascinated me how they could be so adept at hiding their true selves. For example, they may say 'I want to be friends with you', but think 'I will use him' or 'I want to use his kindness'.
Although we all engage in such behavior occasionally, there are individuals who excel at it to the point where their true nature remains a mystery.
I didn't know two close people to me were also...
Well, never mind, it is not like they harmed me or anything...

Well, back to the topic, the third ability which I got my second title, The Mind Break. I didn't use it, not even once. And I will make sure not to use it until I truly awaken. Then will there be a chance? Maybe, in the dungeons.
Finally, my most powerful! The strongest! The highest rank! The most unique...
New ability - The Ethereal Robe of the Forgotten Monarch.
I unlocked the first two effects of my ability!
[ - Increase Mental Power by 100%.
- Increase Intelligence by 100%. ]
And yeah, all other effects were locked.
I think one of them unlocks, with each ascending.
Unfortunately, all the other effects remained locked. I believed that each effect would unlock as I ascended. Since all I needed to do was unlock the effects, I pondered which aspect of myself I should focus on training.
However, I soon realized that these first two effects were passive. When I initially used this extraordinary ability, nothing happened, which caught me off guard.
I thought an ethereal or celestial robe would appear before me...
It took a month of mental struggle before I finally understood that I had to create the ethereal robe myself, from scratch. But it was proving to be a difficult task. I couldn't make any progress with this ability.
There were moments when I thought I should have chosen the orb or even the staff instead. But those were just foolish thoughts. The orb and staff were mere items that could easily be taken away.
In contrast, this ability was exclusive to me, and no one could easily strip it away. That was another reason why I had chosen it among the three SS ranks.
I am not discouraged though. I believe that the difficulty I face in mastering this ability will ultimately result in its immense power. Therefore, I am planning to dedicate more than three hours each day solely to this ability. I am determined to overcome any obstacles.
