Colette stood next to Nora after her discharge from the hospital, waiting to be picked up by Arabella so that they could go to the courthouse immediately. Nora leaned on Colette, and the blonde turned to look at her with a soft smile.
Nora smiled back. She took Colette’s hand in her own and held it until Arabella’s car pulled up. The two got into the backseat and Arabella sighed softly.
“I was almost married once, you know?” the redhead admitted, making Nora and Colette look at one another quizzically.
“I didn’t know that. To whom?” Colette asked, her eyebrows raised. There was a little pause, and the sanguine woman seemed apprehensive, just for a minute.
“To Camilla.”
Colette’s mouth popped open, but Nora was quick to put a finger under her jaw and shut it again.
“What, that’s incredible ...!”
“I loved her very much. We had to keep it a secret because of the times, but I loved her dearly.”
“Arabella? Can I ask you what happened to her …?”
