Well, vargr…as if this quest wasn't challenging enough. Now, I had werewolf assassins from Fenrisúlfr's super wolf pack coming for my throat.

I felt bad for my phantasm too even though dying for me was sort of its purpose in life. I felt even worse for the hotel it was in because it wasn't like my phantasm would go down without a fight. It was a copy of me, but it was still me—and knowing me, a confrontation would mean hundreds of scaettas worth of property damage.

'Should we go back?' Liara mouthed.

See, that's how smart my betrothed was. Even behind the safety of a secret passage, she didn't take for granted that Hati might overhear us. We didn't know exactly what kind of powers she had compared to, say, the healer wolf that survived Divah cutting his body in two, so it was best to be cautious of the she-wolf who'd once possessed Carmina's title of 'She Who Devours the Moon.'
