Chapitre 36: _ Laria, be my distraction

He watched Anya leave and hoped to hell that they wouldn't find any answer in the high house scholars.

That way, he would not be hurting any family nor would he break the vow between his brothers.

But— what could he do but to hope?

He needed a distraction. If he did not find one soon, every building in the high house and within might collapse because he would definitely freak out.

He stood up from his study desk and walked out with Celio swiftly trailing behind.

His friend had understood his mood and was quiet without asking any questions. One of the reasons why he needed to keep Celio with him at all times.

It was only he who understood his troubles.

"Celio?" he called.

The sharp response from Celio was quick. "Your eminence?"

"Whose slot is it today amongst my wives?" he asked.

Celio was all in one. His royal advisor, his personal assistant, and his secretary.

The way the young man would have his schedules fixed into his brain would never cease to faze him.

"High house mother Laria first then high house mother Ophelia next."

Good— Laria was just what he needed.

Her loud screams whenever he thrusts into her were more than a distraction.

"Get Laria here," he ordered.

This time, Celio did not need to drive down anywhere. All he needed to do was dial Laria's quarters and she would be here.

Laria was one of his wives who did not get a scholar last year. She was on the list of those who would receive that privilege this year.

Always, he was this just husband. There would be no cheating or impartiality amongst his wives.

He heard Celio's voice from behind him as he conversed with whoever was on the other line.

"High house mother Laria can come for her slot with the prince," he instructed and there was silence after.

.

He had entered his cultivation room and went straight into his cultivation pool.

After getting out of his clothes and draping on his cultivation garment, he stepped into the sand pool while it swallowed his leg.

Already, he could feel the ambiance of the pool enveloping his spirit. Slowly, he settled into it finally, all his body sank into the sand.

The energy of the divine sand pool started to rush into his senses and charge his qi. His whole body was powered as the heavenly ambiance ran across it.

He had to clear his mind and go into meditation mode to allow the cultivation to take place with tranquillity but the distractions the of problems at hand threatened to make his cultivation this morning fruitless.

He would have Laria in this room and dive into her even though it would be a stain to perform such on such holy ground.

It would be one of the very first steps he would take against the heavens. If they had stained him with such a curse, it should not be considered disobedience if he stained their holiness while trying to meet up with the criterion they had set for him.

.

For now, he hushed his thoughts as the aura of the cultivation ground overwhelmed him and circulate around his essence. Already, his red qi which was at the seventh stage was already climbing higher because of his unfailing daily cultivation.

Hopefully, soon he would surpass the seventh stage and level up to the eighth.

It was harder to level up as your qi rises higher. Very much challenging than divine persons with regular qi.

.

He did not even hear the sound of the door opening. His senses were far gone as the cultivation had trapped his movement. It was a beautiful feeling yet so powerful.

But, he did hear Celio announce the presence of Laria.

"High house mother Laria has arrived, your eminence." he let out.

The journey of releasing his senses from their cultivation streak was an overwhelming one.

Swiftly, his eyes had opened but it took a few seconds for him to regain the rest of his senses.

Laria was one of his impatient wives. Before even waiting for his approval, she was already beside his cultivation pool.

He was an easy man to his wives which was why they could act as they pleased with him, unlike the other people. He had never and would never raise his voice at any of them no matter the offense.

Not even when he caught some of them cheating. He would only divorce them and marry new ones silently.

"My love!" Laria had exclaimed joyfully.

Laria was one of the few among his wives who called such pet names.

However, Cargan doubted the sincerity of such names because he knew for sure none of his wives could love him at all.

They could only privately be with him once in a month. Approximately twelve times in a year. That was if some of them survived being with him for a year without messing up.

The only one whom he was finding it hard to believe was truly in love with him was Iris. He had gotten married to her thirty- two years ago.

She never left, never did anything out of the question. When it was her turn to be with him, she would do it quietly and with great respect.

Indeed, women like Iris were scarce. She was one of the few women he respected but still, he had never felt any strong feelings for her.

Of course, she looked like she was old enough to be his mother now but he would continue to treat her fairly and be indifferent about her appearance.

It was only a shame she got married to someone like him thus, had no child as a legacy.

He and his brothers had been barren for more than twenty centuries now after the chain of living had been circulated.

Somehow, every divine person in their lines was a descendant of them. Just that their own children had been long dead since about eight hundred years ago.

Still, the stream continued as more and more children were born but not directly from them.

That was why divine citizens would catch the bond disease when they were sick.

They were indirectly their descendants.

.

He had risen from his pool. With Laria's personality, he knew she might jump into his pool to meet with him.

She was just too impatient.

And if she stepped into his pool, he would send her off to Astor.

His brother would be more than pleased to have his drink delivered to his doorstep. Astor drinks blood as his monthly requirement. Blood from citizens of any of the lines except his own.

.

As he stepped out of the cultivation pool, Laria's hands were over him.

Heavens! Why could she not be patient and allow him shed all the sand in his body?

Women!

With stretching of his palm and drawing them to a fist, all the cultivation sands in his body fell and traveled away from his body. He was the master bender of the sand element.

He heard an exclamation from Laria and turned back to find out the reason behind her scream.
