As Corey staggered backward, a searing pain ripped through his left shoulder, accompanied by a deafening roar that drowned out the chaos around him. He stumbled, his vision swimming as he struggled to maintain his balance, his hands instinctively clutching at the source of agony.
The bullet had torn through his flesh with brutal force, leaving behind a ragged, crimson-edged wound that oozed blood in pulsating rivulets. The skin around the entry point was mottled with dark bruises, a stark contrast to the pallor that had washed over Corey's features.
His breath came in ragged gasps, each inhalation a laborious effort as he fought to quell the rising tide of panic and pain. Every movement sent a jolt of agony lancing through his injured shoulder, a constant reminder of the violence that had shattered his world in an instant.
First of all, I want to apologize for the rubbish updates I gave you this month.
Second, this book would be going on an indefinite hiatus. Income for this book has become low compared to the beginning, and I've been struggling to make the minimal $200 for a while now.
I want to start a new book which I'll publish next month or so. Hopefully, it goes well, and it renews my passion for writing. I'm really sorry to all the consistent readers I have, and I know some/most/all would be very angry/sad because of this.
I have not given up on this book since I see it as my child. My first born.
So with this, unless you see consistent updates next month or in another month, please don't pay for privilege for that month.
Thank you for your understanding.
