Chapitre 26: 26. Roxy meets Helfer

On the third floor of the school building, standing next to the window in the Dean's office were the two detectives that were on Gray Hundurin's case.

"I thought she said she didn't have anybody," Detective Walter states.

"Hm, clearly she forgot to mention she had a boyfriend who is filthy rich." Detective James added.

Leaning in closer to the glass, his brows creased, his right palm resting under his lower lip as he stroked his jaw with his thumb.

His eyes studied them, the girl who had claimed not to have anybody who could have probably been offended by the stunt Gray and his friends pulled.

Then the best friend who had so convincingly declared that she didn't know of anyone around her friend who could care about an incident like that.

And lastly, lastly, James watched the man who just appeared in the picture. There was no need for a background check to know the man was rich, just the car he rode was enough proof of that. And it was clear what his relationship with Erina was, and he more than anything looked like he had the resources to orchestrate the assault on Gray and his friends.

"Walter, what do you think about that man? Does he look like someone who would silently sit back when someone touches what is his?" James taps on the glass, and Walter looks at Reuel again as he was ushering Erina into his car.

"I don't think so. He looks like someone who wouldn't take such." Walter points out, and James nods slowly in agreement as he watched the car drive off.

"That's what I thought," He mutters as the car soon faded from view, and he moved away from the window. "Walter, we'll need to shift our focus now. I want everything on that man. Every single thing!"

...

"I still can't believe you came to my school!!" She confesses, sitting next to him in the car "I mean, did you finish taking care of everything you needed to do in Unicorn City?" He could see the sincere concern in her eyes as he glanced at her, and faced the road again, driving to no destination in particular.

She shifts on her seat, leaning a bit closer to him, causing the seat belt to stretch, "Have things with the protestants settled down? Did you..." His index finger suddenly lands on her lips, forcing her to swallow back her words.

"Hush, White. Hush." He says in an enchanting whisper, and just the mere skin touch of his fingers on her lips was enough to make her heart which was still racing, run even faster. Coupled with the sound of his voice, that sent quivers down her spine. Oh, he did some really magical things to her body, and she liked it.

"Yes, everything has been settled. I won't be here otherwise." He assures her as he takes his finger off her lips.

"Now, I came here to collect what you owe me..." He turns and looks at her, making sure he held her gaze before saying, "A date."

And Erina had no idea how many times the heart can skip beats before it stops beating, but she was certain she was very close to that number. Because with every word this man spoke, her heart was either skipping beats or thumping harder than normal.

"So, White, tell me what you have planned for our special date." He says and she melted at the sound of a special date.

"OH," she giggled and slapped both her palms on her face. "Really?" She gleefully asks, almost unable to hide her joy.

"Definitely! You didn't plan on going back on your word did you?" he raises a questioning brow, and her back instantly jerks up from the seat as she waved her palms and head vigorously, "No, of course not!" She states. And he laughs out loud at her gesture.

"Oh, White, you're really something." He compliments. "So, where are we going?" He asks.

"Don't mean to be rude, or anything, but..." Roxy who had been in the back seat all the while watching their nonsense finally spoke up.

"Was that a compliment? Oh, White, you're really something?? Was that supposed to be a compliment? And why are you smiling like that Erina!!" In all honesty, Reuel had completely forgotten that he had agreed to give the woman a ride, even though he found her presence annoying, he had to look good in front of Erina. So when Roxy had asked to ride with them, he had agreed.

But now he was wondering where in the world was the woman's stop!!!

"Roxy!! He's our boss, you can't talk to him like that!" Erina scolded, causing Roxy to rethink the fact again. He was really her boss.

"Mm-hmm, I mean, I'm not at work now, so he's not here as my boss but my friend's boyfriend, so what's wrong?" She had switched from her high-tone voice to a much more low and humble voice. Also using her hand to push something that was touching her neck.

"Well then, Reuel," she called, but instantly regretted using his name as she saw through the front mirror the way his eyes flashed at her, and it made her swallow her own saliva. "I_ I mean, Sir..." She corrected.

"Why are you dating my friend? I'm sure you have people throwing themselves at you, so Why Erina?" She sincerely asks, once more scratching her neck as she felt something touch her there.

Now all that trailed in Reuel's head was how to get rid of unwanted pest. Because that is what Roxy was to him right now. A pest.

"Do I need a reason to admire someone?" He replied.

Erina blushed at his response, but Roxy found it annoying. 'What kind of a cunning answer was that?' She sneered, touching her neck again to dust away whatever was touching her.

"Tha_ That is..." She touches her neck again, trying to push away what was touching her neck without turning back to just move it away at once. "I mean that answer is... What in the world is touching my neck!!!" She cried out in frustration as she swiftly turned her neck, to look behind her.

And her eyes lowered to the head of the back seats where her head was resting all this while. And now she could see it, her eyes slowly dilated, her mouth opened wide, her brows raised high up, and her nose wrinkled and...

*AHHHHHH!!! WAA HHhH HHhH HHH!!* Her loud high-pitched cry pierced the ear of every living being inside the car. Reuel tilted his head to the side, trying to bury his ear in his shoulder, while Erina covered both her ears with her palm.

And Helfer, from shock, fell right into the lap of the woman who screamed, causing an even higher wave of trauma for the lady as she screamed even louder...

"WAA Ahhh HHhH H!!!* "OH MY GOSH! It's a Lizard... GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF ME!!!" It's eating my flesh, oh my gosh it's crawling all over me, I can feel its tongue on my skin!!! Get it off!!!" She screamed and turned and jumped inside the small space, climbing the seats, crawling from her side at the back over to Erina's side in front, as she ran her hands over her body, all the while still screaming.

Her boots were in Reuel's face, and the man was trying his best to keep her boot out of his mouth, and also not drive them into an almost inevitable accident.

"Open this damned door right now!!! I want to get out!!! Please... Erina, it's all over my body, ERINA GET IT OFF MY BODY!!! STOP THE DAMN CAR AND OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!!!"

And Helfer, who wasn't even on her body again, as she had slapped him off her clothes, just sat at the edge of the backseat watching her scream and shout her heart out and the lizard thought... "Alas, something interesting."
