Chapitre 54: Chapter 54

When the group all found out about who Arthas Menethil was, the character he was being mistaken for and his deeds before and after he had become the Lich King, they were shocked. But to many it made Cyrus' actions and personality more understandable as well as his advanced knowledge of enemies and how to fight them.

He didn't tell them that he himself was just a player and all this lore he had was from playing every Warcraft game and reading into its lore in detail. That would've definitely made him sound quite mad.

Cyrus had to swear he wouldn't put on the helm no matter what, which he easily did so. He wasn't stupid. He knew if he put that helm on now, the previous Arthas as Lich King would be a joke compared to what he would become.

Arthas was a paladin, Cyrus had more capabilities than Arthas for he had multiple classes.

A Lich King with access to so many class abilities and having [Frostmourne] would curb stomp just about anyone.

'I am going to need to step it up. Even with everything I have, I know it isn't enough. Anyone who even has just a little bit of knowledge knows there's really only one thing that can defeat Lich King. The one weapon every fan wanted but was never truly released, they did give knock-off versions of it and allowed you to transmute your weapon to look like it. But they never truly released it to players.' Cyrus thoughts led to one of the top truly legendary weapons in Warcraft lore.

[Ashbringer], a powerful sword named after its first wielder, and for its ability to slaughter the undead and leave nothing but ash in its wake. Crafted by the Dwarven King Magni Bronzebeard himself on the Great Anvil of Ironforge, he had infused the sword with the Holy Light itself. The Holy Light is one of the two fundamental forces of the universe and the source of all life in the cosmos.

It was originally wielded by Alexandros Mograine, a former Highlord of the Order of the Silver Hand, the sword was named after him. He carried the title "The Ashbringer".

His oldest son, Renault Morgraine betrayed and murdered him with his own sword, corrupting it and entrapping Alexandros soul within. After Kel'Thuzad resurrected Alexandros as a Death Knight to lead the Four Horsemen of the Scourge in Naxxramas, Alexandros wielded the corrupted Ashbringer until his younger son Darion Morgraine killed him and reclaimed it.

Darion in an attempt to free his fathers soul that was trapped within, he impaled himself with the sword. While he did succeed in freeing his fathers soul he became undead and joined the Scourge, once again putting the legendary sword back into the hands of the Lich Kings forces.

It wasn't until the second Battle for Light's Hope Chapel that Ashbringer was finally fully purified, thanks to Darion betraying the Lich King and relinquishing the sword to Tirion Fordring.

Tirion then used [Ashbringer] to shatter [Frostmourne] which led to the Lich Kings defeat, and Arthas putting on the helm becoming the new Lich King to command the Scourge to leave. Which they did, and for years they knew peace until Arthas returned after the helm had twisted him into the true Lich King.

Cyrus knew he had to either craft a new one or somehow find the original. He knew recreating one was basically impossible, the first one was an utter accident and stroke of luck.

Alexandros had found a dark crystal on the body of a dead orc warlock during his siege of Blackrock Spire, it was described as a "living embodiment of shadow".

Appalled by the crystal they tried to destroy it with holy spells but rather than be destroyed or damaged, the crystal absorbed the spells and became a crystal of pure light, it became a physical manifestation of the Holy Light itself. Something that has never been able to be replicated before or after. Many had tried to get the Holy Light to physically manifest, but were never able to succeed.

Without [Ashbringer] defeating the Lich King would be tough, [Frostmourne] wasn't a weapon to belittle. In fact it was above his own main two handed sword [Glorenzelg], it was the main reason he hasn't gone north to raid the Icecrown Citadel yet.

He needed something strong enough to counter [Frostmourne], otherwise anyone with him could be affected quickly and ruthlessly. Their souls would be quickly absorbed by the sword and Lich King would gain their knowledge, souls and bodies to use as he pleases.

Only he and any other heroes may be able to avoid the passive abilities and attacks of the sword, anyone who died by Lich King wouldn't be able to resurrect. He wasn't willing to risk losing anyone close to him and he definitely can't solo kill Lich King even if he had [Ashbringer]. But having it would protect everyone due to its own passive abilities that counter [Frostmourne]. Without the sword he would have to go with a fully geared group.

Knowing he needed to speed things up, Cyrus found a small uninhabited island off the north western corner of Skagos, just northeast of the small island of Skane, the island named Bjargströnd. He planned to absorb the island into Dalaran to increase its landmass to be able to deploy more than the current limit of just over 3,000 troops. Anything above 3,000 the city would begin to be crowded and would be less efficient due to lack of space. It would put Dalaran out of commission for about 6-8 months before it was able to fly again, but being able to double the troops would be more beneficial. He made sure to track a few rift locations before submersing it into the island so that he could have a few destinations while Dalaran was out of the picture.

He requested his father to remain Hand for a little longer, he had three locations of rifts and he was sure one of those heroes would be a human he could use as a Hand. He knew making Thrall or Grom Hand of the King would just create issues, at least so early it would. Julia Celeste was an option but she refused, she planned to stick closely to him to ensure that the helm is never again placed on Arthas head.

He was hoping for Khadgar, Aegwynn, or Anduin Wyrnn would be the perfect candidate.

Anduin Wyrnn was not only powerful in strength, he was also King of Stormwind and Commander of the Alliance forces. He was a natural born leader.

'Jaina would be fine too but that could definitely bring some headaches considering Arthas and her past. They didn't exactly separate on the best of terms.' Cyrus thought as he landed Dalaran on the island.

Jaina ran Dalaran while Arthas had his responsibilities to Lordaeron. She left Arthas when he began slaughtering every man woman and child, infected or not, in Stratholme. Even after he became the Lich King, Jaina was still in love with him and knew that a piece of him still remained inside of the Lich King.

As he had left Dalaran to head back home he decided to take a look at Skagos before heading home. He knew his mother was up to something and didn't want to be involved, he had too much on his mind.

These recent incursions had done a number on him. Although they had won, many were lost as well. It wasn't a clean victory, it was a mess. He had to figure out a way to stop things like what happened to Robert and his group.

'I could write a book with detailed illustrations and battle tactics for each boss, kinda act like the forums for the servers where players shared their battle experience and videos assisting other groups in fighting.' Cyrus thought as the idea had come to him. He had spent a lot of time within those discussions.

Using [Portal] Cyrus brought his small group to the main island of Skagos, it was a large mountainous region giving it the name, which meant stone in the old tongue. There were many rumors about the Skagosi people, they were generally despised by the northmen. They regarded them as nothing but tribes of people, similar to wildlings. It was rumored they still performed human sacrifices to weirwood trees, engaged in cannibalism in the winter as well as still practicing the banned tradition of the "first night".

Although considered technically part of the north they rarely interacted with the north except to raid, pillage and eat its people as it was believed. They had fought and killed the Starks until Brandon IX Stark broke their power and ships forbidding them from the sea.

Cyrus wanted to see for himself the people of Skagos, he knew rumors could not be trusted completely.

Cyrus as well as Alexstrasza, Margaery, Daenerys and Myrcella all put on disguises and made their way south thru the forest heading to Deepdown which was one of the three main houses of Skagos. House Crowl held Deepdown which was in the middle of the island, House Magnar held Kingshouse to the west and House Stane held the east at Driftwood Hall.

He had attempted to travel alone since large groups just brought attention, but he had been overruled by his mother who had apparently set up small groups of three to take turns on missions. He was shocked by such planning in advance.

'I think my mother has found a way to get into my mind.' Cyrus thought as they made their way through the dense forest. The girls were all looking for the famous unicorn native to Skagos. When Cyrus saw one he had to laugh a bit, rather than being a horse like he had pictured when he heard of them they were more like goats. Many had heard tails of the Skagosi warriors mounted on unicorns into battle, he couldn't help but picture the Dwarf's and their ram mounts. He had a few himself in his mount bag, he had over 120 mounts in his bag, many who would've known about all his mounts would've complained why he was so jealous of Jon when he first got his dragon.

It was quite simple, his dragon mounts didn't activate until he bonded with Alexstrasza. Before then he only had his other mounts. Many of which would've caused way too many issues, like the Qiraji Battle Tanks, Gryphons, Dragonhawks, Kodos, or Raptors would've definitely caused issues nevermind the drakes and proto-drake mounts he had.

Cyrus had brought out Pantera and Fenrys to scout ahead as the group made their way carefully thru the forest, after a few hours they had reached Deepdown.

It wasn't a typical castle, Deepdown was built inside a deep cave in the mountains. It wasn't anything like they expected, the stories spoke of savages and cannibalistic violent people, but what he saw reminded him of many northerners. Just trying to survive the winters and fill their stomachs. He didn't doubt they could be viscous when needed but so could anyone given the circumstances.

Recalling his direwolf since unlike the shadowcat Pantera, Fenrys didn't have stealth capabilities. As they made their way into the cave they came upon the marketplace, the girls shopped and Cyrus followed but listened to the local talk.

He had found out that both House Cowl and Stane had made a deal with Petyr Baelish in the Vale and were sailing with the pirates of the Three Sisters to attack Kings Landing. He also found out that all three heads of the houses in Skagos had departed from Kingshouse to head to Winterfell to renew their loyalty to his house, they were doing so to gain their protection from pirates since no one dared to attack the north now that they were united.

Notifying the girls that they needed to stop in Kings Landing before heading to Essos to go look for one of the rifts. He wanted to leave a nice surprise for Littlefinger in Kings Landing.

'I was planning to destroy that literal shit pile of a city anyway. So what if that ugly Iron Throne and a few buildings collapse especially around the dock. Any good individuals would've cleared out by then and I can set a detonator with a timer, set to go off about 30 minutes after they arrive at the port.' Cyrus thought as he waited for the girls to shop on their way out.

'Jeez, good thing we aren't in a hurry, well they never got out much so may as well allow them to enjoy themselves while they can. There's no telling where the rift will take us. And I don't know how well they will take seeing life in another world.' Cyrus thought as he watched the three girl shopping.

Little did he know those few bombs he set up would cause a massive explosion that would change the topography of Kings Landing thanks to the tons of Wildfire hidden underneath.
