Chapitre 4: Training and The Wait

It has been 3 years since Rudeus first came in contact with the system, in the past 3 years he had train with his all heart and soul. Today he had finally reached the required level to use the system.
During the past 3 years Rudeus completely focused his mind on reaching the power level, leading his strength to rise exponentially. The only thing that was bothering him was his MP which didn't increased like the strength. After some experiments he found that his understanding of MP was wrong.
The MP value is not straight up mental power or ability to comprehend, because if it was so then he had one of the most advanced thinking minds in One Piece due to his previous life knowledge. On further contemplating he realized that actually MP was based on his ability to focus, assemble his thoughts and ability to multitask.
So, rather than training his superficial part of mind he started to focus to train his subconscious mind because the best way to focus and gain absolute control over this mind was to control and tame his subconscious mind. He knew due to his previous life memories and distraction he knew from his previous life his mind was chaotic and controlling such a mind required more effort.
Finally, after 3 years of hard work he had achieved the required level of MP.
"Rudeus, come out, we are going to be late for training" a kid near the same age as Rudeus shouted outside his house.
"Glen, you know that you don't have to shout everyday" Rudeus said as he came out of his house while closing the door.
Glen was a kid from the orphanage and one of Rudeus friends, last year after Rudeus officially started staying in his house, Glen came to visit him and asked him about the reason behind his decision. Rudeus after spending some time with Glen realized that Glen was a good kid and very hard working like him, Glen only ambition was to live peacefully, they became good friends.
"You know if we are late Captain Rasa will make us run extra rounds" Glen said agitatedly.
'Yes, this was one of the good things that happened in this past 3 years' Rudeus thought as he started walking with Glen to the harbor of the island.
Six months ago, a Navy Ship came to this island lead by Marine Captain Rasa. Captain Rasa was a tall, and bulky man with many scars on his body, he had black hair and brown eyes. Captain Rasa even though looked ferocious but was very kind with the villagers.
So, looking at the opportunity Rudeus played his cards like an innocent village boy admiring the Navy and asked Captain Rasa to train him, when asked about the reason he told them his sad story which lead to Captain Rasa staying and training the kids around the village in swordsmanship and archery.
In the past six months Rudeus had tried to absorb everything Rasa taught like a sponge. Although, it was not the best form of swordsmanship but it was all he could get currently, so, he put more effort to practice it and tried to overcome the lack of style by strength. His archery skills were one of the best due to the mental exercises he practiced.
While talking to one another, Rudeus and Glen finally reached the ground near the harbor. They quickly spotted the other kids and stood in a line along with them, there were a few Marine Officers training near them, after few minutes they finally saw a tall, bulky man come in front of them, all the Marines left whatever they were doing and saluted the man, the kid followed the other marines and saluted.
"Today will be your last day of training as I got orders from the base to return within a week" said Captain Rasa. Hearing this, kids started to murmur among themselves.
"Silence, I have stayed in this island for too long, even though I want to teach you all currently I have some more important things to do, which is to clean the sea from filthy pirates" Captain Rasa was speaking passionately, the kids were excited hearing such a passionate speech.
"I have decided that before I go, I will give you all a test and those who do extremely well in the test will get a prize from me" just as Rasa said prize all the kids eyes started glow.
"Rasa-sensei, what will be the test?" Rudeus asked curiously.
"It will be a survival and hunting test in the forest near the village" Rasa concluded.
"In the forest, isn't it dangerous" "But kids aren't allowed to go to the forest" some of the kids started to complain.
"Those who do not want to participate, its fine. Only those who are willing will take the test. Now start your training, everyone start running around the circle and do not stop until I tell you." Rasa said as he took out a stick from his back.
Hearing Rasa's instruction the kids started to run, and continued their training. Later, by the time training ended it was already afternoon. One thing that Rudeus liked about the training was that they provide meal after each training sessions.
Rudeus returned home after the training session took a bath and went to sleep; it was his everyday routine nowadays. After waking up, he started to practice swordsmanship with the wooden sword, these day Rudeus has taken over his parents berry farm which was in the backyard of the house so he didn't need to work on others house, he grew berries and the mayor helped him sell it in the market.
The day ended, Rudeus ate dinner and went to bed excited as tomorrow was the day his wait will end after so many sleepless nights in the last 3 years and coincidently Captain Rasa gave two days off as the test was on the third day.
It was almost afternoon when Rudeus woke up as he went to sleep very late thinking about today. Actually Rudeus has reached the required criteria yesterday but due to training and practice session with Rasa he thought it may affect his mental power or something so he didn't want to take chance like last time. So, Rudeus freshened up, had his breakfast and calmed his mind.
"System, use the first lucky draw, World Selection"
