We stepped out of the jet and into the car already waiting for us at the jet terminal. Alex was driving this time, it was surprising his troops of bodyguards were not escorting us in their convoys as usual. I stared at the man who had an impassive face on him, there were lots of questions I wanted to ask but he didn't seem to be in the mood.
The drive to our destination was long and boring, I felt weird inside. Alex had refused to talk or even stare at me after the long cuddling in the jet.
We arrived before a cozy penthouse, it was different from the usual mansion I find me in each time I was adopted by him.
"Come here." It was the first time he spoke to me since we arrived and I felt somewhat relieved knowing we were fine. "I can walk myself, Alex." I held unto his firm shoulders as we got in. I couldn't wait to see the surprise he has for me. Thinking about it made me even more curious and at the same time excited.
We stepped into the apartment that had a mixture of ancient and modern facilities. The burning fireplace and ancient decor gave me an ancient vibe, but the chandelier and every other thing have me the modern vibes. I couldn't help but wonder who has lived here before. "Is this your place too?"
"It originally belonged to my grandfather, which i inherited for me and my son's to come." He held me from behind, placing his chin on my shoulder as we both started at the fire. I loved his strong arm around me, I always feel so safe in his arms. "Thank you so much, Hazel."
I turned around to meet his gaze, "What for?" "For making me the happiest man in the world." I was still yet to believe Alex was changed. This heartless man can never change, it's not real, it's not possible. "They're not yours Alex." "Whatever's yours is mine too." He pulled me closer and his lips brushed mine for the briefest seconds before pulling away.
His eyes were dark smoldering with desires, but I could see him resisting the urge to get close to me. It felt like he was struggling that had veins popping in his head and him clenching his jaw tightly.
Those seconds were breathtaking, Alex has done something to me, something I could never explain. No one's had me wanting them the same way I crave for him. Just brushing my lips wasn't enough for me and the babies, we wanted more.
"What do you want my lovely lady, tea?" He let my waist go caging my hands in his instead. Alex took me up the stairs as we approached our room, "Rest while I make your tea." He stated. I didn't even recall when I said I wanted tea. Alex was being so careful and calm around, if this was his definition of change, then I don't think I need it.
I just want the old Alex back. He stepped back into the room with a tray in his hands. "This is for you, just the way you like it." He was right, it was served the way I loved it, but how did he know.
All Alex wanted was to spend some time with his wife, just the two of them away from the world and all its troubles. He didn't say a word to her earlier cause he has no idea how to talk to her. He wanted Hazel close to himself, and now she's here, he couldn't get enough of her.
.
"You're Carie if I'm not mistaken." Carie met her gaze with narrowed eyes as she tried recalling where she's seen this face before. As if Genevieve noticed her confused stare, "I'm Genevieve, Hazel's cousin. We met at the restaurant, on the day of your reunion where you screamed and embarrassed yourselves." Genevieve explained further.
"Oh my... You....." Carie greeted. She doesn't know who this girl is, but since she's related to Hazel, maybe she's good after all. "Well, you know no one has been able to see my cousin since, after the abduction, it's been hard for the family." Gene started earning a pitying look from Carie.
That shouldn't be a bother to you, Hazel's in good hands she's currently on a vacation with my brother." Care said, blinded by the innocent look on Genevieve's face.
What Carie was unaware of was that the girl standing next to her, was hurt hearing this, she's always idolized Alex after her encounter with him at a club. She's always dreamt of him, getting wet just at the thought of him.
Even if the man was very far from her reach, she didn't give up. Hearing Hazel his ex-wife was her sister, Genevieve felt relieved and happy. Not because she loved the girl, but because she knew she was one step closer to Alex.
Now Hazel's back with Alex, to the point of even going on a vacation. Genevieve felt pained and betrayed once again. "What country are they in?" She suddenly asked harmlessly. Carie had no horrible thoughts in her mind against Genevieve, there was no need to suspect her.
Even if they send a million Army to get Hazel, they'd be back with zero armies, Carie thought.

A pair of black boots clicked the cold cemented floor, the environment was old and dirty. When Nessa arrived a few minutes ago, they had told her her sister was in here. She couldn't believe Amelia would try to harm her daughter, but she was still her sister no matter what.
She gazed at the woman before her in disappointment. She's loved Amelia and done everything for her, but she never thought her sister could be so greedy to hurt hazel. She's always been a second mother to Hazel, so she wondered why she suddenly hated the girl.
Amelia heard the clicking sound of a female shoe on the floor approaching her and she lifted her head. Her green eyes met the familiar blue eyes which had tears in them. "I'm so sorry." That was all she could utter before whimpering.
