The diamond jewelry was really beautiful, maybe it's a gift from Alex, but why did he not include his name? I thought. I received a call immediately, it was an unknown number but it's one thing I knew was that it was the sender.
It has to be the sender, who else would call if not the stranger? But I was still anxious about it. Alex has never done this before and why would he try to pull a prank like this? I darted my gaze at Carie and she gave me an encouraging nod.
I nodded back and answered the call, "Hello Hazel!" A familiar deep male cold voice rang in my ears and I frowned. What does he want from me this time.
Sited on his favorite sit close to the fire place that was burning brightly, Xavier held a glass of golden colour liquid in his hands. He has been in happy since he got a call from Oliver about Hazel's engagement party and wedding ceremony the next week.
He was happy his plans were going as planned, but thinking about what Berverly said that day, right now he had second thoughts about Hazel, his only key of killing that heartless billoniare. He would not take a no for an answer.

"What do you want?" I asked sternly, "No love, that's not a way to talk to your father who gave you the best life there is!" He said calmly trying to hide the anger in him. "You would have taught me the normal way then!"
Ignoring her words, "I have a business proposal for you. Since our last business went well, why don't we step up a little, hmm..?" He said. I wondered what business proposal he had for me this time. I've already made up my mind not to get involved with this man ever again.
"Keep your proposals to yourself, or better still give them to your daughters or someone else, I'm not interested!" I said to hear him scroll. "Like you have a choice, meet me back at the mansion for a little chit chat after your wedding, don't forget to have fun!" Came his words unhurriedly.
"Like I said before, I'm not inte....!" "You have more than enough time to think about it!" He said and hunged up. "Who was that?" Carie asked.
"It was my father, he said he wants us to talk once I'm done with the wedding. I wonder what he wants to talk about!" I tried to think of what he might need from me to propose another business. It's not like we're close for him to do that.
"You worry too much Hazel, what harm can a father do to his own child? Maybe he wants to set things right between you too!" Carie suggested. Maybe she's right, maybe he finally regrets what he did to I and mum and he wants to set things right. But on a second thought and from what I've seen, that's so not like him. He is a cunning and dangerous man.
We later got back into the house and went to our rooms. I was about to go to bed when I received another call, this time it was video call from Alex. I wasn't flattered this time cause of his actions during the day, but that doesn't mean I wasn't happy to see his face again.
"Hazel!" His voice and face still held that cold expression from before, "Good evening Alex!" We acted like complete strangers, one day apart from this man really changed things. "How was your day?" 'like you care' I thought. "It was fun!" I replied briefly.
"Did you meet Helen?" "Yes I did, it was really hard to pick the right card at first but I'm glad Carie was here to assist me!" I explained further. "Trish will help you and Carie to the airport tomorrow, I want you in U.K before noon. So you can meet our family tailor for your wedding dress!"
I was astonished by his sudden words, my heart skipped on hearing the wedding dress. It's not like I'm not married to Alex already, but every girl has a definition of what their dream wedding should look like.
I really wanted my mum there, but I don't know if Alex would let me see her or increase my punishment for asking. Not to forget he asked me to pay for his damaged cars even if he had replaced them with new ones.
"Alright!" I said, not like he was giving me a room to make a choice, it was his money who I'm I to question how he spends it.
"Did you have fun today?" All this questions being asked felt wierd cause it was coming from Alex, "Yes I did!" I replied with a smile. "Did you miss me?" His asked unhurriedly, cold tone had warmth in it immediately, and I didn't fail to notice. "Yes I did, I missed you alot. I was a little hurt by your actions earlier but seeing you now, I totally forgive you" was the words that I wanted to say but my parted lips said something else.
"I... I.. People miss people right?" I said. "Ah.... Foolish Hazel, you just keep on embarrassing yourself" I screamed in my head as my face flushed red. I could see Alex's lips curl into a smile, "So you missed me?" He asked again, this time I was dumbstruck as I couldn't tell him how I felt. "I'll take your silence as a yes then!"
"I'll see you tomorrow baby, sleep tight. Kisses!" He hunged up immediately.
I just didn't understand why my heart fluttered, was it the baby part or the kisses, I laid on the bed covering my face with my palms.
