Chapitre 70: Chapter 69 She's Alive 1
Doctor Phil went ahead to check Hazel who laid lifeless on the bed. The three men in the room waited anxiously for his results. He brought out his stethoscope from his bag to check her pulse which he couldn't feel when he touched her hands.
He turned around to look at the three men who sat anxiously on the couch. He opened his mouth but could not utter a word cause of the intimidating gazes on him. Their eyes were burning with curiosity, at the same time they were all afraid to hear the obvious from the doctor.
"She's alive, but her pulse is weak. If nothing is done to revive her in time I'm afraid we might loose her!" Phil said gingerly. "Then what are you waiting for get to work!" Ben said sternly. "I would have but I left other useful equipment in my office as I was not told that the situation was critical!" Phil explained.
"I'll have my men take you back just hurry and come back in time!" Alex said this time. There was this ease feeling in his chest since Phil said the girl was alive, right now he didn't care if her case was critical as he'd hire the best doctors to treat her. Doctor Phillip left the mansion to his office immediately. They all let out a relieved sigh unintentionally.
Phil was back in the next twenty minutes to check the girl scared to if she was now dead as her pulse was weak when he checked earlier. He let out a sigh of relief when he checked her and found out she was alive. He sent the three men out of the room as he started his work on her.
Alex, Ben and Lukas went back to his private lounge the one close to his study room. "What really happened to Hazel Alex?" Ben asked now his friend was back to his senses. Alex sat on the white sofa unhurriedly before speaking "She's been hellbent on killing herself for the past few days now!" He said "I've wanted to ask, where the hell have you two been?" Alex added. He tried to reach them but could not for some reasons he didn't know.
"Why Alex? I don't remember you being our father!" Lukas said unhurriedly with a grin. He has been out with Carie, they've been on their own adventure together. Since Alex took Hazel away from the farm that morning, Carie didn't find the need to stay there any longer especially with Berverly around. She decided to call Lukas to come pick her up.
"What's stopping you from getting Carie pregnant or are you not getting married to her?" Ben asked Lukas looking for every possible way to poke Alex. And it was working cause of the little frown on Alex's face. Alex has been against their relationship from the beginning but Carie is just too stubborn to listen to anyone so he let them be.
Lukas is not the kind of man that is ready to settle down anytime soon, and this was his fear that Lukas might hurt his sister. He might act nonchalantly around them but it doesn't mean he's blind to see what's going on.
"We'll get married Ben, but in my own time. You of all people should know how much I value and Love my baby. Unlike most people!" Lukas said sarcastically. He still didn't know what he sees in Carie that got him so attached to her to the point of him not staying a day without hearing from her.
"Ben rolled his eyes, he was very much aware of the relationship between Lukas and Carie but he thought the man would notice he was trying his best to provoke Alex. Which the reason was best known to him.
"Back to our previous conversation Alex, why was Hazel hellbent on taking her own life?" Ben asked. "Her Mum!" Was Alex's brief reply. "Her Mum?" Ben asked. "If I want you to know what goes on between I and my wife I'd have told you before you asked am I right?" Alex asked.
This time it was his fault Hazel tried to commit murder and he's willing to take full responsibility for it. But he wouldn't want Ben knowing about it not after the little drama from earlier. "Very well then sorry for asking!" Ben said.
Lukas shook his head listening to their conversations, he let out a frustrated sigh. He wondered when this two would ever change. They always fight but when one person gets into trouble the other would be the first to support.
