Where is my mother? Where did you keep her?" I had to ask. For two whole weeks I haven't seen my mum or aunt anywhere around Los Angeles. Just where the hell are they?. And here he is talking about a stupid engagement party we both knew was worthless. "Are you f**king serious? I asked about the embarrassment you caused my entire family and you're asking of your dead mother!" He said sternly.
No he didn't just say that, I bit my lips hard trying to calm the burning range in me. "You're so callous, you're a beast, how can you say such? I don't want to get married to you anymore leave me the f**k alone. I don't need your money just stay away from me!" I threw pillows around aiming at no direction, I could barely see anyone in the room. My mum was my weakness, seeing her hurt from a very young age was so poignant. I was always so sensitive when it came to her.
"You should be happy you're married to me, women like you are gold diggers. Don't act all innocent, when you know you and your family live off of me. You'd do as I say till our one year contract is over. I bought you with my money so you live by my rules!" He said sternly. I was dumbstruck by his words.
"You'd be indoors for a week, that means no going out for you. You'd stay in this room reading the contract over again, so you'd know your place in this house. Your next punishment would be worse if you try anything stupid again!" He added unhurriedly.
He placed the contract on my bed harshly and I jolted in fear. "I'm not a slave Alex, I'm your wife. Don't treat me like I'm some kid!" I said irrtated by his actions. The lights were turned on immediately, and I could see the face of the monster infront of me in all black, glaring at me so intently like a beast about to devour it's prey. "It's that so? Don't tempt me Hazel, you really don't want me to hurt you!" He said.
"What more can you do Alex aside empty threats!" I said. His lips curled and he walked up to me unhurriedly like the beast he is, taking one step at a time. He trapped me on the bed placing his hands by the two sides off my ear as I laid down unintentionally. I gulped softly. "Empty.. threats.. Hazel?" He asked tilting his head closer and closer to mine almost capturing my lips. *Knock*. We were distracted by the sudden raps on the door.
He walked out of the room unhurriedly when he was done intimidating me without another word. I didn't dare to say anything at this point cause I was dumbstruck as tears threatened to fall down my eyes. I knew the only saviour my mum had was death but I still had little hope of her recovery.
I kept on lying to myself over and over again, that she would be fine. All I've ever prayed for was a better life for I and my mum, but it seems life was never fair to both of us. Not only was i motherless now but I was also an illegitimate child, who was sold to a heartless man. My life had no meaning anymore.
