Casey felt like her breath was just out of reach as she stood before the vampiress. Goosebumps crawled their way up her legs and down her neck. It was a little drafty and she hadn’t worn anything under her robe.

She was hoping she would be able to get into bed soon.

Specifically, she was hoping it would be Lavinia’s.

So much had transpired since that morning. The sun was fully up and it was nearly noon, and they were still awake.

So much had changed since the last time she was in this room. But despite all that had occurred and all that had changed. Despite all the hardship and pain she and Lavinia had experienced, Casey wanted today to be memorable for a good reason.

And she wanted Lavinia.

The same woman who was standing before her in a flimsy nightgown. Casey could almost see straight down it. The little bite scars on Lavinia’s body peeked out slightly around the loose and plunging neckline. The same woman whose eyes had popped when she saw Casey.
