When Tang Beibei heard someone calling for help, she didn't answer her phone. Instead, she quickened her pace and ran over to the woman.
"What happened to your baby?"
"My son was playing in the fields and was bitten by a snake."
The woman was in her forties. Her hair was messy and one of her shoes fell off as she ran and cried. She looked sad and helpless.
Tang Beibei patted her shoulder. "Sister, calm down and tell me where your child is. Then, call 120."
The woman sobbed as she pointed ahead. A few children were standing on an embankment behind a small hill.
Tang Beibei turned to look at Jiang Jingchen. Jiang Jingchen had already taken out his phone and dialed 120. Sensing her gaze, Jiang Jingchen said, "The ambulance needs at least fifteen minutes to get here."
Tang Beibei ran to the children and asked, "Where's the snake that bit him?"
"It, it ran away."
