The living room was occupied only by the key members of the Chi family, while the other well-wishers who had come to welcome Young Master Chi had either returned home to rest or commenced their regular duties for the day. Among the select few present was Zhang Wei, given his role as Madam Chi's personal servant. 

At that moment, Patriarch Chi inquired of his son, "How's life in the army? You're so busy that you hardly visit us. Even during the last New Year, you sent us a letter instead of coming home." 

Madam Chi joined in, "Indeed, Jie'er, your father is correct. You've grown noticeably thinner. Are you eating well? I've reminded you before to take care of yourself. It seems like ever since you've grown up, you don't pay attention to your mother's advice."
