Chapitre 3: First mate
You could see Damien walking through the forest towards a largely populated city. 'Why does Josh live in such a secluded place' Damien thought while advancing towards the city. "....Why should I care so much?" he said while shrugging and shaking his head. "I didn't notice much before but I feel that I'm a lot stronger than I was before, Are these the results of life and death battles?" Damien said in a questioning manner before shaking his head and continuing on his way to the city. Damien departed several hours ago from Josh's house after telling him he is looking for a friend.

"I currently have 100 thousand berries that I got from Josh, it should probably suffice for a while" Damien said as he entered the city. The city was pretty big with several houses everywhere packed together.
"Uhhh!!, How am I supposed to find my first mate in such a large place" Damien complained as he started walking around the street aimlessly. After 30 minutes of walking around aimlessly he arrived in front of a large pub.
"My intuition tells me to enter this pub for some reason, Maybe I will find something good?". Damien entered the large pub and sat at a random table. He looked around to see if he could find what he was looking for. Unfortunately for him he didn't find anyone unique or interesting but Damien is one to believe in his intuition so he decided to wait patiently for a few hours to see if something happens.
.....A few hours later, a unique looking person who looked to be in his early twenties walked into the pub. He has white hair and silver eyes, as soon as he walked in the whole place went quiet. For some reason everybody was staring at him and whispering. The white haired man looked unbothered as he was used to such situations and started walking to an empty table and proceeded to order some beer.

"Bingo" Damien said with a grin, since the first time he laid his eyes on him when he entered the pub his intuition told him that he's the perfect candidate. After a couple minutes the place was empty with only Damien and the white haired man left. The white haired man looked around and sighed, "Why is it always the same?" he said before noticing Damien.
They locked eyes for a couple seconds neither of them wanting to be the first to look away. "HAHAHA!, you're interesting" Damien said loudly as he walked towards the man.
"I'm Damien, Francis D. Damien" he continued as he put his hand out for the man to shake. "I'm Ken" he replied as he shook Damien's hand. "What is you're dream" Damien asked Ken, "Why do you care?" Ken said in a confused manner. "Well my dream is to sail around the world" Ken said anyway seeing Damien's solemn face. "What's yours?" he asked back, "My dream is to be the strongest man alive and gather the strongest crew" Damien unconsciously emitted a pressure while he said that with a huge smile on his face.
"Join my crew Ken" Damien stated smilingly as he held out his hand. Ken was slightly shocked that for the first time in a long time that someone willingly spoke to him and the pressure unconsciously emitted by Damien only made him more shocked. "Hello" Damien said and waved his hands in front of Ken's face after seeing him in a daze.
"Why?, Why did you choose to invite me?" Ken said after getting out of his daze. "Because my intuition tells me you're the perfect candidate to be part of my crew" Damien replied with a bright smile.
"FAHAHAHA!!, I accept" Ken said in a joyful manner. Ken and Damien bumped fists smilingly. "Are you not going to ask me why everyone is avoiding me?". "I don't really care about such stuff, unless you would want to tell me".
"Well were going to be together for a long time so might as well tell you to build trust" Ken said before explaining. When Ken was young he went missing in the forest for a month. His whole family spent day and night looking for him but to no avail. For some odd reason as soon as Ken went missing his family's business started getting much more profit than before and they're health became much better.
They tried to hire people with their newfound wealth to search for Ken, after several weeks he was found deep in the forest being taken care of by a middle aged man. After being found and taken back to his house, the same night that Ken returned to the house It burnt down killing his whole family.
The odd thing is that Ken escaped without a scratch on his body or clothes. Ever since that moment rumours have been spread saying that Ken is a cursed child and everyone avoids him for the fear of getting affected. Ken finished explaining to Damien.
"I'll be your new family from now on, you don't have to worry about such stupid stuff anymore" Damien told Ken with a smile. "You'll have to take care of me then captain" Ken replied in a thankful tone. They took a glass of beer, "CHEER!!, To the start of our journey" Damien and Ken said simultaneously while clanking their beer.

On the way back to Josh's house with Ken, Damien almost forgot to check the status of his quest.

"HAHAHA!!". 'Sweet with this I don't have to worry about getting panicked from my first kill'. Damien thought while walking towards the depths of the forest with Ken by his side. "What are you laughing about?". "I'm just imagining our journey in the future" Damien replied. "Hmm is that so" Ken said while raising his eyebrows.
'I should keep my system a secret' Damien thought as he continued walking. Damien opened the inventory to see his new sword and proceeded to retrieve it out of the inventory.
He emitted a huge battle lust as he held the hilt of the sword. Ken who was walking besides him was startled as he saw a sword appearing out of thin air and the aura emitted by Damien also made him release his battle lust but Ken quickly controlled it and asked Damien.
"Where the hell did that sword come out from?". "It's one of my devil fruit abilities" Damien replied while caressing his sword. "That seems pretty convenient" Ken replied nodding his head. "Since that from now on we'll continue to transcend our limits and get to the level of the strongest, I'll name this sword (Chōetsu suru) which means transcend.
As the sword acknowledged the name it began to vibrate as silverish lighting coiled around it. "It seems to really like the name" Ken said. "Indeed it does" Damien replied with a huge grin.
"Where are we going by the way" Ken said in a confused manner. "Were going to visit an interesting person" Damien replied before walking faster towards the depth of the forest.
