Chapitre 36: The Feel Good Drag Part 4
“Would you like to make this peaceful?” Greg asked.
“What in the hell?” Arnold said with disbelief in his voice. “How is this possible? Those two are like ninjas”.
“Ninjas with psychic powers”. Calian said.
“Why don’t you guys come out of the car?” Greg asked. “Not that you have anywhere else to go anyway”.
Stop!” Wiyot shouted, causing a dead silence. “Why are you here?!?
Everyone was still as Wiyot did not move an inch. Wiyot could see that Greg glanced over to Sheila and Sheila returned the gaze to him. The two then turned their eyesight towards Wiyot, causing Wiyot to make direct eye contact with them. The three of them enagegd in a standoff, no one of them blinking.
“At this point it should be more about why you are resisting?” Sheila threw back.
BAM!
Sheila had whipped out her gun and fired off a round. Arnold was able to turn his pickup truck quick enough to avoid the bullet. But alas, this did not deter Sheila who continued to target the pickup truck. Arnold kicked up some dirt and as he side swiped the gray Lexus.
As they drove off Wiyot could see that Greg and Sheila jumped back into their gray Lexus and were already in hot pursuit of them. There were no bullets flying, but instead Greg was behind the wheel, pressing down hard on the gas.
“How close are we to the dock?” Wiyot asked.
“It can’t be too far”. Arnold answered.
“Could be far enough for us”. Calian said as he looked back.
“We have to get out of here”. Wiyot said, turned to Arnold with his hands out. “At all cost”.
“Yeah”. Arnold said. “I know”.
Arnold cut a hard right and stood on the gas as they zipped on by through the night. Penny’s right hand had a firm grasp on the front passenger’s handle up on the right side above where she sat. Everyone else was on alert as Wiyot’s eyes were focused on the back.
As Arnold drove down Wiyot could start seeing the oceanside. He stared outside of the window as saw the boats that were tied up on the dock. He could see the slight ocean current that caused the boats to sway from side to side. The scent of salt water filled the air with a crisp end that settled inside’s Wiyot’ nostrils.
“This is the harbor, isn’t it?” Penny asked.
“Yeah”. Arnold replied. “We’re almost there”.
“Well, this will be fun”. Calian stated.
“Just gotta make the most of it!” Takoda said.
“If you don’t shut the fuck up…”
“That ship over there”. Wiyot interjected. He had pointed to a large cargo ship that was at the dock about half a mile away. It was black with a red trim and was tied up a few yards from the dock.
“Yes, that is a ship alright”. Calian commented.
“We need to get on that one”. Wiyot confirmed.
“What’s so special about that ship?”
“All I know is that it feels like that vibration to me”.
Calian paused as his mouth dropped open a bit whilst his eyes grew wide. Wiyot sat there, not saying or doing anything. Calian regained his composure as he somewhat squared up with Wiyot.
“Hmph”. Calian uttered, his arms crossed up.
“We need to follow it”.
“I’m in”. Halian said.
“Yeah, why not?” Takoda said.
“Wait, what do you mean by a vibration?” Penny asked.
“I know we probably sound crazy right about now”. Takoda said with a large grin. “But this is sorta part of a pact that we made with each other”.
“Pact?” Penny repeated.
“Yeah, it’s real complicated”.
SCRECCH
Arnold slid his front tires as he brought the truck to a stop. Where they were parked was close enough to a ship that was docked. Wiyot looked up and out of the driver side window. He saw that there was some movement on the ship as men began to get ready for the early morning sail.
Wiyot, Calian, Halian, Takoda, Penny, and Arnold got out of the pickup truck and walked towards the dock. Wiyot looked back as saw Takoda and Penny standing there, caught up in stillness and looking into each other’s eyes.
“This has for sure been something that I never thought would happen”. Penny said. “Like ever”.
“I’ll take that as a compliment”. Takoda said as Penny leaned in and kissed him. Takoda grabbed Penny as the two began to make out with one another. Penny then began to slowly move back and stared at Takoda in the eyes.
“You should”. Penny said.
“I guess that’s our cue to get the hell out of here”. Calian said right as Arnold extended his hand for a shake.
“It’s been an experience”. Arnold said. Calian shook his hand.
“That’s certainly was way to say it”. Calian said as Arnold moved on to shake Halian’s and Takoda’s hands. He then went and shook Wiyot’s hand before he paused.
“Take care of these guys”. Arnold said. Wiyot nodded.
SCREECH
The black Mercedes Benz whipped around and almost nicked Penny. Everyone jumped back as Wiyot approached the car. The driver left his window up as Greg and Sheila walked out. They were without their weapons as Wiyot stared at them.
“Fuckers are relentless”. Calian syayed.
“Oh, the irony”. Greg commented.
“So…”Takoda began. “How’s stalking us neen?”
“We have not been stalking you”. Sheila answered. “Just two of you”.
Wiyot and Calian looked at each other before they turned back to Greg and Sheila. Wiyot’s eyes pressed up as he clinched his fist and shook a bit. He looked down to the ground, took one sigh and looked back up.
“Did you put us in that lab?” Wiyot asked.
“All your questions will be answered if you come with us”. Sheila said.
“Fat chance!” Halian shouted. “Let’s go!”
Halian ran as Wiyot, Calian and Takoda followed suit. Greg and Sheila pulled their guns as Arnold began to fight with Greg. Penny tried to get into Sheila’s face, but Sheila was about to knock her aside to the ground.
“Run guys!” Penny shouted.
Halian had jumped on the ship with Wiyot and Calian following suit. The ship was beginning to pull away as Takoda was right behind. BANG! BANG! BANG! Went the round of bullets that Sheila had been firing. Takoda had been able to dodge them all as the ship pulled away.
“Takoda!” Wiyot shouted with his right arm out.
“Don’t worry!” Takoda shouted back. “Just thought I’d make it interesting!”.
Takoda made a jump for it. He grabbed onto Wiyot’s arms as bullets flew mere inches over his head. Wiyot and Takoda rolled on the floor of the ship until they knocked into a wall. Wiyot got up as he gazed over the ship to see Arnold and Penny waving while Greg and Sheila stood there in disbelief. Calian, Takoda, and Halian joined him.
“Are we free?” Halian asked.
“Not yet”. Wiyot answered, staring back out in the distance. “But it’s coming”.
