Jack knew that S.H.I.E.L.D. was a spy agency and that they could have investigated Stark Industries while helping Tony and making a report on him.
But in this universe, it seemed that S.H.I.E.L.D.'s objective was just to spy and perhaps find out who Iron Man was, otherwise, they wouldn't have sent Natasha, who was the best spy and the person Nick Fury trusted the most besides Phil Coulson.
Tony, Pepper, and Natasha didn't know what Jack was thinking and just thought that Jack was shocked by Natasha's beauty. Pepper was happy to see this because she was jealous of Natasha and afraid that Tony would go back to his old habits and try to be with her.
"Hi Tony and Jack, I've been waiting for you. This is Natalie Rushman, who has been working as my secretary here at the company for a few months," said Pepper, introducing Natalie to Jack.
"Natalie, this is Jack Shaw, a friend of Tony." Pepper almost said that Jack was a hero, but she remembered that he didn't like to reveal his identity unnecessarily.
Natasha was also curious to know who Jack was. When Jack called Pepper to talk to Tony, he told her directly that he was a hero to arrange a meeting with her, but Pepper hadn't told anyone in the company.
Jack saw that Natasha didn't know who he was and was relieved. He thought that maybe Natasha had managed to put a bug in Pepper's office to spy on them. If she had done that, Natasha would know that Jack was a hero.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Shaw. I have to go now and take these papers to the legal department. Excuse me," said Natasha, and left Pepper's office. Jack had to admit that Natasha was a good spy and knew how to act in unexpected situations.
Tony had noticed what Pepper was trying to do and found it funny to see her jealous. He knew that in the past, he really could have gone out for a night with Natalie if he wasn't with Pepper.
Therefore, he didn't care about seeing her jealous, knowing that Pepper had always liked him, Tony felt guilty for in the past asking Pepper for help to get rid of his mistresses as he did with his other assistants.
"Hahaha, I saw that you liked Natalie, Jack, she's really pretty and it seems like she's been single since she started working here in the company." Said Tony laughing to provoke his friend a little and increase Pepper's jealousy.
"If Tony says she's single, then it's true, he's an expert at finding out that kind of thing." Said Pepper, irritated by the provocation.
"Tony's just kidding, Pepper, you know how his personality is bad, the other day he was crying saying he missed you." Said Jack, mocking Tony.
"Hey, when did that happen? I don't remember doing anything like that." Said Tony without feeling ashamed.
"Let's change the subject, Jack, I wanted to thank you personally for saving Tony, if it wasn't for you, he would have died and I wouldn't even know he was hiding so many secrets." Said Pepper with gratitude.
"I said I would tell you everything, Pepper, I just didn't want to worry you, it's hard to tell people that you found out you're dying." Said Tony, seeing that Pepper had still not forgiven him for hiding that secret from her.
The three continued to talk and laugh for a while until Pepper kicked them out of her office, saying she had to work. Tony, who didn't want to annoy Pepper anymore, took Jack to show him some things he had created in the Stark industries.
The truth was that most of the things Tony showed were related to the military, after all, it wasn't that long ago that Tony said the company would stop selling weapons.
Even so, it was impressive to see the things that Tony had created, which were different from the things that Jack knew in the world he was previously in.
While Jack and Tony were visiting the company, Natasha Romanoff was talking to Nick Fury about Tony Stark's return to the company and the arrival of Jack Shaw, who seemed to be Tony's friend, but had never appeared before.
"Fury, I have never seen any news about this Jack Shaw. The only information we have about him is that he was recently in New York, before that he lived his whole life in Boston, and there is no information about him flying to Malibu," said Natasha frustrated by not finding information about Jack.
"It is really strange. Tony doesn't usually trust new people quickly, which shows that Tony must have known Jack for several months," said Fury, imagining the relationship between Tony and Jack based on Tony's personality.
"In addition, it seems that a few days ago, Jack was able to have a meeting directly with Pepper Potts. A common person wouldn't be able to meet with the president of Stark Industries if he didn't know Tony beforehand," said Fury analyzing.
"Yes, Pepper also introduced him as Tony's friend, but it's impossible for him to have become Tony's friend in the last few days. But before that, we have no information about Jack meeting with Tony," said Natasha.
This was what was making Fury and Natasha curious. S.H.I.E.L.D. had always monitored Stark Industries because the founder of S.H.I.E.L.D. was Howard Stark, Tony's father, and Stark Industries was a company that created weapons for the government.
Fury ordered S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to investigate Stark Industries even more when Iron Man appeared a few years ago. After all, Iron Man rescued Tony Stark after he was kidnapped.
Fury was interested in who Iron Man was to recruit him for the Avengers initiative that he was thinking of, but Tony said that his bodyguard's identity was secret.
Of course, S.H.I.E.L.D. suspected that Tony was actually Iron Man, but that didn't explain why Iron Man had never appeared before Tony was kidnapped, and if Tony was Iron Man, he wouldn't stay kidnapped for weeks and could return quickly.
In addition, they didn't know that J.A.R.V.I.S could control Iron Man's armor, and Tony Stark had already appeared several times alongside Iron Man, so they only had a small suspicion that Tony Stark was Iron Man.
I tried to write it in a different way with a new grammar correction program, please tell me if it's better or worse than the previous chapters, if it's worse, I'll just post the chapter I wrote without going through that program like I used to.
