Chapitre 3: The Outside
The more my eyes adjusted to the light the more I stared in awe, I never knew a place like this could exist. What I saw was an extremely vast valley with enormous mountains, surrounding us as if the area was hit by a gigantic meteorite, however, I realized that we had come out what seems to be the side of one of these mountains, as we were looking down into the valley, at this point I had only been focusing on the sights, forgetting that we weren't safe yet, I then felt Laloo put his hand on my shoulder.
"Oh no they're coming, that trio"
What trio? But I had no time for thinking, a big problem just appeared
"OHHHH I CANT WAIT TO ENTER THIS!!!"
"Calm down Zev stop being so loud it's annoying"
"Zeff let him be he's just excited, we all are"
Those three different voices I heard... are they who Laloo was referring to, I heard two of them being called Zev and Zeff but who is the third one.
"Ahhh wellll if it isn't Laloo, do ya remember me, your old buddy Zath, the greatest to ever wield a sword!"
What an introduction
"How many times do I need to remind you Zath, it's way too early for you to be saying that, you're only nineteen rememmmmba"
This Zath guy Is seeming to be a very unique individual, however despite his personality he seems to be giving off an extreme need for attention from the orange aura surrounding him, however, the other two were giving off an extremely bright red aura, but it didn't feel like the red from the rabbit, it was filled with excitement, especially looking at Zev's face… well I think that ones Zev… anyway the smile on him is huge, he also seems really excited to see Laloo as well.
"AYO! AYO! Who is this Laloo, I thought you worked alone!?"
Uh oh, it seemed Zath spotted me, what am I supposed to do, or is it say, I do not know in the slightest.
"Ah this guy, he's a newly joined adventurer and I offered to teach him a few things, and we happened to be near when Movia appeared, one lucky kid I tell you, wish it were me."
That… is actually a damn good response, did he come up with that on the spot, I guess I'll let him handle it then.
"Quite a unique lookin fella isn't he, I've only ever seen one other with pure white hair like that, except it was not that long, shit"
Did this Zath guy just insult me or was that a compliment, I am not used to this stuff yet.
"Anyway shouldn't you three be going, you don't want Movia to run away from you now do you."
"You are exactly correct, even though I would love to talk more with the newbie we need to get going, ONWARDS YOU TWO!"
"YAY, WE'RE GOING NOW!"
"Ugh how am I related to you two"
Ahhh finally they left, I thought that was never going to end, luckily they didn't question me or Laloo, but there was something off-putting about one of them.
"Hey uh Laloo, did you notice, one of them was staring at me, the quiet one, was it Zeff?"
"Yep that's Zeff alright, the most mysterious out of the three but he's also the most cautious, that's most likely the reason for his stare, don't worry too much about it."
Okay at least it wasn't because something was off about me, it was only because he was cautious, never know what people might do I guess.
"Anyway Auric I believe it's time for us to run away, we got lucky this time with them showing up."
"Lead the way Laloo!"
After Laloo decided that we shouldn't take the main path, it took us about 3 whole hours before we finally made it down into the valley after trekking through the downhill bush
*CRAAASHHHH*
"What in the hell was that, Laloo what happe—
*pant* "aur…ic, I ne… need to rest… for a lit…tle while"
How old is this guy, being on the verge of collapse from walking down a mountain, I'm still as energetic as when we left.
"Well do you think we're safe here, I'm still a bit worried?"
"We're far enough away, plus we have my sense magic don't forget about that, I'll know if something is coming."
The more I think about it, I realize that I know next to nothing about how magic works, like how you choose a specific type to specialize in, or how you actually begin learning how to harness magic itself, I guess I can use this little break to get some advice from Laloo.
"Okay let's rest then, I have a few questions I wanted to ask anyway if you don't mind"
"I know… you must still be incredibly confused."
I walk over and plonk myself next to Laloo right outside the bushes from where we came, I then gaze off into the valley scanning the landscape and noticing many different creatures, what seems to be balls of slime jumping around, families of wolves, foxes that seemed to have more than one tail.
"It's like a zoo here isn't it…"
"What's a zoo?"
"Basically a place that houses many different kinds of animals, from things that live in the sea to things that live in the sky, I love it."
As I turned my head in Laloo's direction I saw him shrouded in a thick black aura with nothing but an immense feeling of sadness, I couldn't help but think I might have accidentally reminded him of a tragic memory.
"Sorry… I didn't mean to bring back a painful memory"
as I said that Laloo turned to me and gave me a gentle smile
"I was… I was just thinking about my son, I always wanted to take him to the zoo in the big city"
"Well, why don't you then?"
"He was taken from me, by this organization!"
As those words exited his mouth the feeling of sadness switched to a very, very dark feeling of anger, that's all I needed to understand just what he could be going through.
"I see, do you know why they came after your son?"
"Apparently it was due to him not being checked for a specific trait or ability when he was born, from what I know every newborn has a test done, on what I believe is their eye to check if they pick up a certain magic or something, I don't really know."
A certain magic that's only found in the eye, how dangerous could it possibly be to take someone's child away from them, no one deserves for their children to be taken away by force with no understanding of why.
"I later learned that the magic only shows up for a few minutes after a baby is born, however, it doesn't re-appear until the age of fifteen"
"How come your son wasn't checked when he was born?"
"Most likely because he came early, while I was out finishing my last job before we were expecting… I uh, came back home to my wife holding our son"
Is he saying that his wife gave birth by herself with no one helping her… that's incredible, not that I really have the knowledge to fully understand that situation, however, I do know it's probably a painful experience, I don't know how I know that but I do…
"But it's been ten years since that day, and I'm still searching for him, earlier when I found you I was… kind of hoping that you were him."
Oh, that makes me feel really bad, knowing that I probably shattered all his hope when he found me.
"Still I'm glad I found you because I… was getting lonely"
The black aura around Laloo kept getting thicker and thicker until I could barely see him anymore, I wonder what I could do to cheer him up, think Auric think… … … AHA! I got something, all I have to do is smile.
"I'm glad too! For once in my life, it feels like I have someone I could call family."
Saying that as I turned to look at Laloo I noticed the thick black aura was gone, *Sigh* I'm relieved, I thought he was about to shut down for a second there, glad he didn't, however as I looked closer towards him I saw several tears running down his face, except he didn't look sad anymore, he seemed happier than before, happier than when we were leaving Movia.

What seemed to be around 3 minutes later of silence it looked like Laloo had stopped crying and looked more excited than ever.
"Well now that I'm done crying like a child… you ready to learn some magic Auric?"
MAGIC, DID HE JUST SAY MAGIC!
"Oh hell yes I'm ready!"
"Fantastic, I'll give you a rundown of the basics, but before that let me fix this up"
All of a sudden Laloo went behind me and started grabbing my hair
"Wha… what are you doing"
"Just tying it up, you'll draw attention like that"
My hair will draw attention, seriously, how can hair draw attention, is mine way too long or something… wait, no that could be the problem since it is in fact right down to my knees.
"Alright all done, let's start, I'll talk while we walk."
Ohhhh ohhhh I'm excited, finally, I'll be learning some magic, I cannot wait to use it, I wonder how many things I can do with it, could I create fire, no water, or maybe both, I guess we'll see, but before that, it looks like Laloo put my hair in what seems to be a half bun half ponytail, and hooooly does it feel refreshing, the slight breeze and the coolness makes the back of my neck feel so nice… but enough of that it's time to learn some magic!
"So where do we Begin!"
"First! I'll tell you about the different kinds of magic"
Different kinds? Like the different elements, or maybe he's referring to offensive and defensive magic?
"The first kind of magic is known as magical types, which most of the time only enhance or improve one's physical or mental abilities, for example, my sense type magic, which improves all five of my senses drastically. The most commonly used and easiest to learn are; speed type magic, strength type magic, and defense type magic, these three are mainly taught to new students in various schools."
Magical types? I wonder how many there are, and the way Laloo described it made it seem as if each different type varies in its difficulty to learn and master, however, I do wonder how one would activate this kind of magic?
"How does one activate this magic?"
"To activate a magical type you must first understand it… say you want to use speed type magic, first you must know what the word speed entails"
What speed entails? So does he mean like... what the word actually means, because usually speed refers to how fast something is going, and due to magic types affecting your physical or mental ability it would most likely affect the speed you use your body.
"Speed refers to the movement of something, whether that be slow or fast, once you know that, all that's left is your imagination."
"Imagination?"
"Yes imagination, watch me I'll show you"
Focusing on Laloo waiting for him to do something it didn't take longer than three seconds of waiting before I blinked and in that time it took me Laloo was lying on the grass.
"Wha… HUH! Did you just teleport?"
I stared at him in disbelief, there was no way that was just speed-type magic, that had to be teleport-type magic or something, how fast did he have to be moving for it to look like that.
"Nope, that was all just speed, teleport type magic is way more complicated to learn silly. Why don't you try it, first think of something that can be done quickly, such as the time it takes you to click your fingers"
Okay, the time it takes me to click my fingers, I start clicking my fingers repeatedly until I get used to how long it takes.
"Now once you've got that, try and imagine the flow of magic coursing through your body and send it all to the part of your body you want to be affected, for example, your legs"
As I imagine what magic would feel like inside my body, I ended up seeing it as a light blue glow throughout my bones, as I focus all the magic inside me and move it to my legs along with the speed of finger-clicking I take a step forward.

*ZAAAAAAP*
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
*shhhhhhsh*
"OW OW OW OW OW, IT HURTS, LALOO HELP!"
The second my foot made contact with the ground as I took the step, I felt a scorching heat in my legs until it felt like the inside of my legs generated a lighting bolt that exploded, which left me lying on the ground unable to feel my legs, I slowly move my head to look at my legs and notice that there's smoke coming out of them.
"SHIT SHIT SHIT!"
That was the last thing I heard before I blacked out as Laloo rushed towards me... collapsed.

"Auric… Auric… you can't die here… not yet"
…
Waking up in a daze I notice that the sun has nearly set and that I haven't seemed to move from the spot in which I collapsed, looking back down to my legs I noticed Laloo was knelt next to me with his hands over my legs and a strange golden light coming from them, I managed to sit up but because my head hurt like hell that's all I could do, however, I noticed that my legs felt fine.
"Ugh why is it that my head is the thing hurting and not my legs"
"Oh thank god"
Laloo said that to me in a worried tone as he began to hug me, except.
"Laloo… Laloo please… you're going to kill me"
He was hugging me so tightly I thought I was about to pop, perhaps, he put some strength-type magic into that.
"Ha ha, jeez what the hell happened Laloo"
After a while he finally let go of me, I wonder how long I was out... before I blacked out the sun was directly overhead, and now it's dropping below the horizon, it must have been at least eight hours.
"I should be the one asking you that, do you understand how long you were out for?"
"No, how long?"
"Seven hours, long enough for the goddamn sun to set… listen I have no idea what went wrong, so could you tell me what you did in detail?"
"Well first I got used to the speed it took to click my fingers, then I imagined the magic flow being within my bones, then I focused it all into my legs, then as soon as I lifted my leg I felt a scorching heat and when my foot touched the ground it felt like a lightning bolt just exploded inside my leg."
"Hmmm strange, perhaps you hold more magic than the average person and your body isn't used to it, I suppose we might need to check your capacity, however, I won't be able to do it, we'll have to visit a magical tools shop… anyway are you able to stand?"
Placing my hands on the ground next to me I begin to push myself back up noticing that nothing is hurting, once I stand up I do a few small jumps to test whether or not something else is wrong with my legs.
"Uh surprisingly no, I'm not hurting anymore, feels like it never happened"
"I mean, I was holding a healing spell on you continuously for those seven hours"
"Really, why?"
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN WHY, I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO DIE, I THINK MY REACTION WAS FAIRLY NORMAL! You imbecile."
Imbecile, what does that mean, never saw it in any of the books, and most likely isn't a good thing to call someone due to the current situation we're in. Anyway, I wonder if he'll still teach me the other kind of magic seeing I nearly died from the first kind, or maybe he thinks the top priority is getting me to a hospital.
"Well if you're done yelling, what do we do now, it's nearly dark?"
"If you hop on my back we could make it to the closest town in five minutes flat, I'm quite skilled at using enhancement-type magic, whaddya say?"
Oh no, that's just going to be one big motion sickness party, being carried going at that speed, will I even survive, I don't know if I'll be able to withstand that much wind force, with my body I'll fly straight off into the sky.
"I see you're worried… don't be, I won't be going the same speed as before so hurry up and get on"
Laloo gets down on one knee and proceeds to wait for me to climb onto his back, will this really be fine… will I really be fine, I guess I'll find out in the next five minutes, with that I climb onto Laloo's back and wait for him to start running.
"Activate boost-type magic"
What? Boost-type magic, he hasn't told me about that one
"Enhance energy"
Enhance energy? What does that one mean he never told me about that either
"You ready?"
"Yes, so hurry up and start running"
After saying that Laloo gave a little snicker and began moving, however, he didn't start running fast immediately, I noticed that we were gradually picking up the pace at a very fast rate, soon it felt like I was gliding across the ground, looking around into the darkened forests I notice various lights which I assume would be campfires set up by other adventurers. I then happen to glance up into the sky which had finally gone pitch black, noticing the stars in the night sky, filled me with so much more joy than the stars back in Movia ever did, for the first time in ages I felt excited… excited for the world outside.
"Hey Laloo"
"What's wrong Auric, am I going too fast?"
He he, of course. he thinks I'm going to complain about the speed we're going, of course not, this is perfect
"You wouldn't mind, showing me more… of the outside would you?"

Baitozz from this chapter i've finally started seeing improvement in my writing, so i'm hoping that this was an easier read than the last two. i wrote this in less than a week as well, most likely due to myself getting hooked into the world i'm creating, i can't wait to show you where this story is going to go. :)
