Zeke came back to Azia's hospital room the next day, his heart racing with excitement at the prospect of seeing her again. He had been pleasantly surprised at how flirtatious things had become the day before, and he couldn't wait to see where things might lead that day. The fact that he and Azia had gotten through an entire day without arguing still felt like a miracle. If they managed to do that again, who knew what was possible for their future? The thought made Zeke a touch giddy.

He wrapped his knuckles against the open door frame of Azia's hospital room. She was sitting up in bed, looking even more alert and awake than she had the day before. Zeke noticed even her coloring had improved. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of her, his heart full of relief that she was going to be alright.

"Hey there," he said, approaching her bedside. "How are you feeling?"
