Chapitre 93: Preparation for war part 2
The combined army continued to come closed and closer to the capital. Different citizens ran from their villages to the capital to not get killed for sure. To have even some chance for survival. Some of them expected the city walls to be closed for them but they were wrong. Max gave the order to let the commoners pass into the city, allocate some space for them to get by while the war goes on and give them the minimum amount of food to live. If someone wanted to get more they needed to work. Now Max was on a budget and he wanted to save the maximum amount of resources to multiply them after the war. Now his objective was to crush the combined army and reclaim the lost territory. After that Max wanted just to grow up in a low key manner and create a huge power to shit on every country that wanted to do some shady stuff toward him or his country.
Max was watching the different people that were training in the simulation. All were doing generally well. There was not much to do. Those people just needed to cultivate like crazy day and night and drink potions at the right time. The progress was good. Max was generally happy. He got information from Alisher that the scouts that came back from their different missions said that there is around a week of time for sure until the rival army will come. It was more then enough for Max to do what he planned. He said to Alisher to continue the preparations like usual. When Alisher asked him what was the plan Max just said that everything was under control and that he knows already what to do. Alisher just nodded and left in the end. Max did not want anyone to know about his plans and strategy. It could only cause him more losses. It was certain that there were spies in his ranks that will disclose the information to the enemy if he said anything. He did not want that to happen.
Around five more days passed. Alexandria was bustling with activity. People were building barricades and helping the guards and the soldiers to prepare for the battle. The battle was not going to be pretty. The fight could continue for weeks or even months. That's what the city was preparing for. In the simulation all Max was looking after the last breakthrough to the knight level by a burly guy in his thirties. From his looks he was a commoner. When he broke through Max wanted to congratulate him like he did with the rest and give him the corresponding tasks for the near future but after the guy stated to cry Max was not really sure how to react or what to do.
He waited for some time for the brute to stop his sensitive stuff and materialized before him. The commoner was shocked at the beginning, but then he got so excited that he just kowtowed to Max and swearer to serve him again and again. Max told him to stop and just listen. The burly guy stood straight and listened attentively. He swore to himself to follow this man that allowed him to reach from the second level of apprentice knight to a knight level figure in five years. A knight level commoner. This bulky guy did not heard of such person in this country. The brute cultivated in such high speed that he was shocked. The potion that he drank made him a genius knight in terms of cultivation speed.
Max said: "You are the last to get to the knight level. Congratulations. Now you need to get familiar with your powers and learn how to work in a team. Remember for the next fight working in a team is more important than your personal power. You are strong, but this is a war, not a fight one against one. That's why you will work in a teams of two kinds. One will be the team that is decided by me of two mage apprentices and 18 knights protecting them and all of the 100 mage apprentices and 900 knight to fight together. You are the main power of the country now. Working in a team is essential. Only a third of the day you will fight a copy of yourself in the simulation. 16 hours for team work and 8 hours for one versus one every day. "
The brute nodded. The brute was generally lucky. There were two main types of teams. A team of knights with a wind and fire mage tandem that will be more attack oriented. The wind and fire combined attack was a lethal threat to all the foes that will not evade it. The enemies will get charred into a good kebab. There was another main team that had the combination of earth and water mages with knights protecting them. The combination of water and earth is more of a control type that will slow the enemies with the mud created and cause them to get chopped up while they will be slower or even trapped in the mud. Because It was hard to kill enemies in the mud and not to get into it as well the knights protecting them had to have archery proficiency to shoot the enemies to death from afar. There was also one more team. It was a special team. Max called it the zap team. It was constructed from two lightning mages and a team of knights protecting them. It would be just a stun team with zap attack and then the enemies will just get killed by any weapon. It was the most deadly team. Hard to evade because of the speed of lightning and really low ability to see the attack coming at all. This team will be the harvester of death. For every team of two mages there was a team of 18 knights to protect them. Because Max had 900 knights and 100 mages for every mage he needed to give 9 knights to make balanced teams. Max took 30 wind and fire mage apprentices and 19 water and earth mages. Max wanted his army to be more oriented on attack and not control. Of course there was the special zap team as well.
After a short explanation about it to the brute Max located him with the zap team. With two mages that will stun everything around this guy will kick ass. When the brute teleported for his next mission Max started to laugh maniacally. He was going to do a lot of stuff to the incoming retards. They will not be able to go home. At least most of them.
