/"Let's go./" Will murmured as he finally let go of me and regained his composure.

I nodded mutely and followed him out the room into the dark hallway. I was a little embarrassed that I had witnessed him in such a vulnerable state earlier. Will was usually resilient and firm, I'd never imagined seeing him cry. He was sorry for what he'd done. His mother's life had been on the line. The logical part of me knew that he'd had no choice.

If it was my mother wouldn't I have done the same?

He was trying to redeem himself by doing the right thing now, by helping me and Rachel escape, but I didn't think I could forgive him that easily. I had trusted him, I had cared for him deeply and his betrayal had completely shattered me. I didn't think I had it in me to let him in again.

But I could try.

I could try to forgive him.
