Abigail waited and waited for him, hoping he would come out and join her for dinner.

Time passed.

The candles were half-burned, but Christopher never showed up.

Abigail's faint hope began to die. She had arranged all this excitedly since she got back home, anticipating seeing the joy and surprise in his eyes. But he ignored everything and left.

He didn't see the affection and emotions she had invested in all this. What was causing the change in his mood?

After sharing some passionate moments with him, she assumed he would start loving her.

He had not changed in the least. He was just as cold and mysterious as before.

Abigail rested her head on her forearms on the table, tears trickling down the corners of her eyes.

'Why cannot you love me?'
