Leonel’s POV

“You would do well to stop grabbing me like this, Alpha Leonel.” Ah, so my mate knew my name. I felt a thrum of pleasure run through me as she spoke; it had never sounded so good coming from anyone else. “I don’t take kindly to being manhandled.”

A spark lit up inside of me at the look in her eyes–only fires and flames burned there, hot enough to melt the Atlantic. I didn’t know if I was willing to be burned so easily by them, but Goddess knew I’d be willing to try. “Are you threatening me, my dear? The Alpha of Avondale, you’re threatening him?”

“It was more of a warning,” she said, her breathing as unsteady as my own as our scents mingled with each other. “But if you thought it was a threat, maybe you should do some self-reflection and wonder why that is.”

Ah.

I couldn’t help but laugh to myself, the purr of my wolf inside my head banging against every wall and chamber in my mind—he was thrilled.
