Ennis, the only living leader of the Vultures, was captured along with a few more of his followers as they tried to flee the church. This time, when he saw the handkerchief that was the same one Teddy's people had recovered from the rubble at the hospital, he knew they didn't have to explain themselves to him.
All these people, the people who attacked them are from the same group from the helicopter shot down by Marvin. He knows, all these people are coming to kill them and what puzzled him was that he was still alive.
But soon enough those words were answered as the convoy he was traveling in slowly came to a stop at a private school, the walkers had been killed and every now and then a sound of a sniper settling on the rooftops of nearby buildings eliminated the walkers approaching the school.
The cars soon parked, and men dressed in gray combat fatigues got out of the cars and pulled out about eleven people. All had a cloth bag over their heads, completely obscuring the view of the Vultures.
"The others were killed, we took the stuff from the church and came straight here." Shane said as he looked at Airon, then signaled for the people behind the kneeling Vultures to remove the cloth bag covering their faces.
Hearing Shane say that all the other Vultures were killed, Airon nodded and silently. Not all the people who had come to Texas were in the same place, after long consideration Madison agreed to join his people for the sole purpose of participating in what they were about to see. They wanted to know how Airon's group worked so they were in this abandoned school along with the group.
Now, the surrounding area was cleared of walkers and many more soldiers were currently taking care of eliminating any figure that posed a threat to the safety of the people inside the abandoned school. After all, Airon tonight wanted to know the truth to end this as soon as possible.
The sudden light of the spotlights shining brightly in their faces caused the Vultures kneeling on the ground to close their eyes for some time, dazzled by the light that suddenly arrived.
Just as these people were regaining their sight, Airon watched them silently and walked back and forth while giving a silent glance to Alicia who had insisted on coming.
"I have good news for you and bad news that might disturb your last moments alive, I'll start with the good news first. You can all live if you do and answer what you are asked. The bad news is that you can die any second we are having this conversation."
"But before I ask you a special question, I want you to hear why we are gathered here today. You must know why my people slaughtered your group almost in its entirety, you will all have to know what happened."
"Aren't they thieves?"
Airon turned and fixed his gaze on a young girl who looked not old enough to be in this group of wretches, still, who really wants to belong to a certain group of people?
Smiling slightly, Airon thundered his fingers and said, "You don't seem to be getting it, we don't want the little shit you keep in your shelter."
"Your group, the Vulture group, attacked a helicopter from my community that was having trouble flying. While it is very possible that people were killed on impact, a group of idiot birds decided to fire hundreds of bullets at us."
Airon kept silent, closed his eyes and controlled his impulse to drop this damn performance and kill them all, but he knew it would bring him nothing but losses.
After looking again at these people in terror, Airon snapped his fingers again and said, "Come on, I can't believe they didn't know what your people did to mine. They took their guns and not only shot at us, but also attracted the attention of thousands of walkers like fucking beginners."
But Airon knew that all these people knew what his people had done, so he wasn't interested in making them realize something they already knew, he was trying to look for why they had really made that decision, of course, as long as there was an obvious reason why they did it.
"I had many days thinking about it, over and over again I looked logically for something that would explain that stupid decision. So I could find two obvious answers, the first is that they are just stupid and attacked us without any meaning, and the other is that they were desperate to get something valuable."
When Airon said that, he looked at Ennis who was the leader of the Vultures and said, "Since you know my story, and because we are here, don't force me to kill you."
There were six men kneeling on the ground and five women, hands tied behind their backs, heads lowered, faces full of panic and uneasiness. Next to them, several men stood silently holding a rifle just behind their heads.
Then he walked slowly in front of these eleven people, his eyes swept over them one by one, men of color, women of all ages and they all held the same expression.
"So..."
Airon bowed a little, looked kindly at the eleven people in front of him and said quietly, "Which one of you would like to tell me about the location and situation of your shelter? I can call the shots and let you go without any harm! And lastly, who the hell is Teddy?"
Hearing this, the oldest man in the kneeling group narrowed his eyes slightly and looked at the seemingly kind man in front of him. When he raised his head, he was terrified and stammered, "I...I can say something, please don't hurt any of us..."
The other companions beside him were surprised for a moment and turned their heads one after another, although there was not much to show, their eyes were full of surprise.
Hearing that someone would explain so soon, Airon turned his gaze towards the older man, nodded with satisfaction and said with a smile, "Very well, you truly are an intelligent person, so tell me..."
"I... Our refuge was originally a nomadic group, the people in the church were the last of the Vultures. Most of our people were killed, and we didn't serve any group like you just mentioned. There's no such thing as that, we thought you guys were an evil bunch of people."
"Oh, is that so?"
"Yes... That's right!" The older man looked at the man in front of him who didn't seem to really know anything, and a flash of joy shone on his old face, so he quickly said, "If you don't believe me, you can ask one of my classmates."
Bang!
But before he could finish speaking, Airon's face suddenly turned grim, and he suddenly pulled out the pistol from his waistband, pointed it at the head of the older man, and under the horrified eyes of the ten people kneeling beside him, he pulled the trigger without hesitation.
Calp!
The older man who was shot in the head tilted his head back, his eyes were wide open and a face full of confusion could be seen. He did not understand why he died this way, and after a few seconds his body leaned forward and fell to the ground.
Coldly looking at the body of the older man on the ground, Airon looked at the other ten people and said, "There are always people who don't know what to do when given clear instructions and think others are fools. I hope... I really hope it's not the remaining idiots in your group."
