"Do you think I'd play your games, Amazon?"
He uttered such a question as there was no meaning for him to be polite anymore. As their plan was broken before it could even start, the Amazoness who led him here sighed as she signalled for all her helpers to come out.
"...Let's not waste any time. What do you want, and who are you?"
She held strength in numbers as she didn't believe Ryuu could possibly defeat all of them, though she still had some reservations as no matter what, his reputation was way too overkill for her to ignore.
While she was thinking of a way to avoid offending him, the man in question had similar thoughts. Although he was helping Mikoto out in searching for that Kitsune, he did not need to go overboard to attack everyone mercilessly and damage his relationship with an entire Familia...
"It would be better if all your Amazoness first sheathed their weapons. Otherwise, don't blame me for my rudeness."
He gazed at all of them with a cold gaze as that was enough for most of them to tremble a little, though they were all warriors and wouldn't back down just because of that...
The lowest level among them was Level 3, yet he didn't feel any pressure. His stats were boosted, meaning he now stood at the boundary of level 4, as no one under that level could possibly be a threat. Also, as his body was refined endlessly by the Celestial Flame, he could probably fight against entry-level 5 without much of a problem.
His overall battle power did not include his Tachikaze in the equation, though...
As she saw hostility in the air between her group and Ryuu, the leader Amazoness sighed as she nodded, making all of them sheath their weapons before asking them to wait outside and guard the door.
Though most of them were against it, she was still a leading member of the Familia, thus making them yield soon after as Ryuu and the Amazoness known as Aisha discussed several things...
"I will call for one of our members to bring your acquaintance here. I cannot trust you solely based on your words, but your eyes tell me you are not lying."
Although she seemed like a composed leader, Ryuu understood more than the Amazoness intended in their conversation about the 'target'.
"...You're not doing this based on the Familia's orders...Are you trying to protect her?"
Ryuu noticed the Amazoness unconsciously twitched at his words and understood the situation. It was not the Familia protecting the Kitsune at all. In fact, she was secretly struggling to protect her on her own.
"...We're somewhat on the same side, though I didn't wish to end up this much involved in this mess."
She asked the other Amazoness to leave so that she could assess the character of the man. After determining that he seemed trustworthy, she believed him for the time being as alone, there was not much she could do, so taking risks would be the best option for her...
As his companion was genuinely concerned with saving the Kitsune, she would discuss a proper strategy with her rather than Ryuu who did not wish for that...
Aisha knew Ryuu had already guessed all of that from his gaze, though she only snorted as she hated his rumoured intelligence even more now...
"...I see. Is he in the District now?"
Ishtar muttered to herself, considering the possibility that Ryuu was in her territory searching for a certain Kitsune. She had recently spoken with Hermes and knew she couldn't ignore the situation. As a result, she decided and summon an Amazon she despised to her core…
"Have you called for me, Ishtar-sama?"
Although her attitude seemed respectful, Ishtar felt disgusted by her as the only reason she was still a member of the Familia was because of her strength...
"Yes, Phryne. I have a new order for you. Go to the Hestia Familia's manor and kidnap that Dragon who's always with him. Of course, don't hurt it as that would cause huge problems for our Familia..."
Ishtar emphasized the importance of the situation multiple times, knowing that she couldn't afford for the woman to do a poor job. However, the Amazoness paid no attention to these warnings, only focusing on a single detail.
"...Don't worry, Ishtar-sama, I'll accomplish your mission without a problem."
Although her expression remained unchanged, the Amazoness had twisted thoughts running through her mind. She desired to see Ryuu's handsome face twisted in pain from extreme torture and enjoyed the feeling of power when men yielded to her in this way. This revealed an extremely twisted personality that took pleasure in causing others pain.
...Soon, a tale of disaster would unknowingly spread as shocking actions were set in motion.
"...If what you're saying is true, then Haruhime is in big trouble!"
Although Ryuu was initially unsure about the identity of the Kitsune that Mikoto was trying to save, it was now clear that it was not anyone common. The Amazonesses were guarding the area where she was located, making it impossible for her to escape.
This woman was not protected. She was akin to a prisoner as the reason for that was unknown…
"Thank you, Ryuu-dono, you have truly helped me. I will repay this debt in the future..."
Mikoto understood Ryuu's personality, but she didn't want to be even more shameless and ask even to antagonize an entire Familia for a fight he didn't need to participate in...
As the trio discussed the situation, Aisha couldn't care less about her Familia's plans. She divulged everything she knew. Though her gaze often wandered as she glanced at the photo of the members of the Takemikazuchi Familia with Haruhime at the centre, who had a deep smile on her face with many different feelings...
Of course, that was what made Aisha trust them in the first place...
"Ishtar-sama is probably aware of your presence here, which means she may have already moved to go against you. I don't know her plans regarding that, but I'm sure she will do something underhanded to get what she wants..."
When Aisha gave her warning, Ryuu's danger bells immediately went off. He couldn't understand this strange feeling, but an instant later, he connected the dots as the significance of her words sank in, as it was enough for him to understand what 'danger' his instincts were screaming off.
Without hesitation, he rushed towards his Familia Manor at his top speed, activating his [Dragon's Fury] to its full strength and allowing his Dragon features to resurface, though they were altered from before.
Ryuu's appearance was extremely overbearing. His now slightly larger horns and tail were a deeper, more intricate shade of blue that seemed to radiate multiple colors when the light hit them as there was something akin to a formless crown above his head that was still a far cry from a real one...
His overall appearance was regal, resembling a King, though Ryuu didn't care about such details. He was filled with rage, his blue eyes almost turning red as he gritted his teeth. His desire for retribution against Ishtar consumed his thoughts.
'Ishtar...you will pay for this.'
He had reservations about getting involved in Mikoto's fight to secure the Kitsune, even thinking of backing down now since he had done enough, but those thoughts were pushed aside as he couldn't care less about that situation at all…
As Ryuu was enraged, he failed to notice the wisp of Celestial Fire within his body flicker excitedly. It was the only one that could recognize the changes in his characteristics...
