Late autumn was changing Harsen. The air was crisp, and the leaves were falling in droves. There's a hum of excitement in the air that surprised Grayson. The closer it got to winter, the more lethargic he got, so he couldn't quite put a finger on why people were in such bright spirits.
That is until he walks into the bar to see Jude and Amelia hanging a large banner outside the bar that reads, "Proud Vendor of Harsen's Fall Festival."
Grayson whistles as the two struggle to get the banner at the same height. "Fall Festival, huh?"
Amelia turns. "Carter, swap me places. The giant here isn't keeping his side even."
"I'm telling you, my side is not the problem here."
"You're moving it up, and we both know it!"
Grayson grabs the end of the banner.
"Anyone going to answer? What's up with the festival stuff?"
Amelia steps back. "A little further up, Carter. What's there to say? It's a festival in the fall."
They pin the banner in place.
"Is it a big thing?"
