"Spiritual Sense." I closed my eyes, but I still saw - not in a metaphorical sense, but literally.
After reaching the fourth stage of Qi Condensation, one's spiritual sense is unlocked. This new ability could be used to probe cultivation and control flying swords.
It was like minor telekinesis.
In my previous world, I could think of countless uses for this ability. From turning off the lights to preventing my phone from falling on my face, it was a truly miraculous ability to have in modern times.
The spiritual sense was like a mind's eye, enabling one to perceive the world in a mystical manner. Things like ghosts and spirits that were invisible to the naked eye could be perceived through this new sense.
So, my unique ability [Insight] merged with the newly unlocked spiritual sense, leading to the evolution of my Insight. As I previously mentioned, Insight was a growth-type ability, so with the addition of spiritual sense, my Insight evolved even further.
I instinctively knew the new function of Insight after it evolved, so I didn't have to fumble around like a child trying to figure out its abilities. If there was a review for the convenience of this ability, I would give it five stars. But that was just a passing thought.
I tapped my glabella twice, and my vision was suddenly filled with colors.
My new ability was [Spirit Vision]. The colors I saw were the Auras of objects. Spirit Vision allowed me to see the spirituality of objects.
I took out the healing leaf and noticed a green Aura surrounding it. The Aura was ethereal and calming, enveloping the leaf gently. I turned towards the lake, noticing a withering blue Aura. It seemed that the removal of the Crystal Lotus had turned the spiritual lake into a normal one.
Hm. This was a beneficial ability to distinguish the different artifacts.
hehe...
I could already think of a way to abuse the hell out of this ability.

After finishing my brief review of the changes in Insight. I turned towards the lake, my appearance didn't change much, except my skin seemed to have improved to another level, it was pale, but not so pale to be called a Colgate pasty kid...I suddenly regret saying this.

I then put on my newly-dried clothes. Having only one set of clothes was quite a hassle, so shopping for new clothes should be added to my list of things to do after leaving this place.
Despite my reservations, the journey to find the treasure had gone smoothly. It seemed that Lady Luck was on my side, as everything had gone well. Just as I thought I was in the clear, the cave suddenly trembled from a deafening explosion.
The waterfall in front of me also went into chaos as the cave began to collapse. Dafuq?

I quickly used Shadowless Movement to dodge the falling rocks. I wove through the falling debris and passed through the waterfall.

Note to self: Never tempt fate. The adage "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong" holds true, and at this moment, it couldn't be more accurate.
Those were the thoughts that passed my mind as I seemed to have just landed between a battle taking place in the dead center of the lake. It was between a fifth-stage Red Python and a very, very familiar boy.
I knew that the protagonists have the survival instincts of a deer running into headlights without a care for the world.
But this was still beyond my expectations. It seems that our resident protagonist with a grandpa somehow provoked this almost mature Red Python. Of course, the story was quite clear with Insight.
Xiao Tian seemed to have absorbed a huge amount of spiritual energy and the Red Python looked supremely pissed. I can guess that Xiao Tian seemed to have probably taken the treasure guarded by this Red python. So, the battle ensued.
Anyway, the battle seemed to have reached a stalemate. Xiao Tian looked quite injured and seemed to be in a very bad situation. The excess amount of spiritual energy made it so that he could not run his Qi properly. Until he could meditate and absorb it, instead of a boost, the energy became a hindrance instead.
The Red Python, on the other hand, looked injured as well, with its skin charred and several bruises that seemed to be on its large frame.
But the stalemate seemed to have broken due to a new arrival on the battlefield, aka me.
Both Xiao Tian and the python took notice of me. Before I could say anything, Xiao Tian shouted, "Run away. This is an almost mature Red Python equivalent to the fifth stage. He would not notice you, run."
I know the guy had good intentions and it was a trope in novels and anime, for the protagonists to shout whenever, but still, there is a time and place for everything as Dr. Oak says.
"I would love to. But due to your shouting, I don't think I can now." I say beratingly now facing the python.
"Oh! Sorry." Xiao Tian had the nerve to look sheepish when I said that.
The Red python lunged at me, with its mouth open. Its speed closed the distance quickly, its mouth trying to engulf me.

I launched a sword wave that tore right through the open mouth trying to eat me.
"Screech!" The mouth of the Red Python was torn open as it fell into the lake making a huge splash.
...
"Well, that went better than I expected!" I said as the Red Python stopped trashing around and finally closed its eyes...It was dead.
"Be careful." Xiao Tian shouted again!
A small snake seemed to have tried to bite me but with Insight, I had no blind spots. I quickly killed the snake as I heard a rumbling sound.
*Rumble!!* *Rumble!!!*
Numerous Red Python started to emerge from the lake. I looked on as the previous sixth-stage Red Python rose from the lake revealing its 10 feet long body.

I bit my lip lower lip looking at the swarm of slithering serpents that seemed to surface one after another.

.
