Caspian stood there panting. Sage found it hard not to stare at his physique. He was perfectly built and lean, making it hard for her to stay angry. They stood in silence for a moment, breathing heavily. Caspian’s nose had already begun healing and the blood had stopped. Her own hand was still sore from connecting with his skull.
Sage wasn’t even sure where to begin.
The rest of the students filed away, leaving them alone in the courtyard. Sage gazed at him. Could she truly be mates with a shifter?
He was strong, flirtatious, and a little cocky. She couldn’t deny being drawn to him without being able to explain why. But she never could have imagined this. This would bind them together for an eternity…one that could lead to another war between their kinds. If that was true, was he worth it?
Caspian stared back at her, waiting for her to speak. As he caught his breath, he stood taller and crossed his arms, cocking an eyebrow.
That made Sage want to punch him again.
