Chapitre 117: Chapter 115: The Battle Final Part
Opening his eyes after a long while, Ray breathed in relief as he successfully subjugated the World's Will while the residents were distracted by the Demon God Pillars.
"Did you succeed?" Tanya by his side asked while she was skipping and floating around in the low gravity surface of the moon while waiting for him.
"Of course." Ray replied confidently and turned his gaze toward Earth.
The Demon God Pillars had been filling him in with details that he missed while he was battling with the World's Will. They split up into five groups appropriately to counter the enemies they selected based on the information Ray obtained from the previous timeline. For now, three Godslayers had been eliminated, Madam Aisha who has the troublesome Fairy Corridor authority, the veteran Godslayer Duke Voban and Salvatore Doni that possess the dangerous Ripping Silver Arm.
These three were targeted by the Demon Gods because they are the one that can pose danger toward Ray during the battle. Thus, they are eliminated early while the defenders are still not fully aware of the invasion yet. All three targets were attacked simultaneously and within such a short moment that by the time others caught on to the news, their comrades had died.
'Our king, the task you instructed had been carried out faithfully by us. However, we failed to approach and ambush the important target. They have the capability to easily detect us.' Baal reports the progress of the Demon Gods to Ray.
"No worries, they have no chance to win anyway. Especially when the World's Will cannot assist them anymore like last time."
"There is no more need to stay hidden. We will gather them all and kill everyone in one swoop." Ray ordered.
'As you wish, king.' Baal speaks no further as he faithfully carries out Ray's order to the letters.
Ray opens a portal with a snap of his finger and heads toward Earth along with Tanya who is excited to finally get some action after idling for a long while on the moon doing nothing.

On Earth, Kusanagi Godou and Ray along with their companions were attending a meeting with History Compilation Committee regarding the appearance of these gigantic tentacles aliens that had been going around Europe and assassinated three Campione which includes Marquis Voban, Slavatore Doni and Madam Aisha which caused the meltdown of the entire magical community as their revered and inviolable powerful figures were killed like nothing. Especially Marquis Voban who is revered as the strongest Godslayers along with Luo Hao and Doni.
"We have no reason to not suspect their next target is Japan who also housed three Campione." Kaoru explained with the assistance of a giant screen playing a slideshow showing the related information.
Amakasu Touma on the side, listening to the discussion suddenly heard his phone ringing and picked up the call immediately only to drop the phone in shock and terror after hearing a few words.
"No, Kaoru sama. They are already here. The field agents reported these aliens had already surrounded Kyoto and there are a total of… 72 of them!" Amakasu quickly shows the images taken by the field agents which depict various Demon God Pillars all around Kyoto.
Godou was silently staring at the screen while calming himself down. He is angry. No, he is furious that Doni was killed. A person he considered more than an ally, a friend and brothers. His blood boils for revenge, for battle. Yet he didn't do it yet because the civilian evacuation has yet to be completed. This is the reason why no one is fighting yet.
If they fight against the Demon God Pillars, based on the recording and data collected from the battles in Europe, the entirety of Kyoto will be ground zero and the survival rate of any civilian is zero. That's why the HCC is currently diverting all their manpower to evacuate the entire Kyoto city and possibly the neighboring city too.
There is no need to even conceal this matter to the non magical community as the whole world can see the pillars around Kyoto. The military superpower even negotiated if they should use nuclear weapons to eliminate these clearly alien lifeforms.
Basically, it's a total pandemonium as natural order has been flipped upside down.
Everyone in the meeting room is looking at the three key figures, the three Godslayers of Japan.
Ray had stayed silent in a meditative state as he was using Sha Naqba Imuru to gather information about their opponents as Spirit Vision had become unreliable. He knew the identity of the 72 Demon God Pillars and knew that killing the pillars is a waste of time and they should focus on the summoner instead but even after exhausting great amount of mental power and mana to use the clairvoyant ability, he failed to see the summoner. As if the person didn't exist at all, or rather, there is no record of the person in the River of Time which made everything even more tricky and worrisome.
Sha Naqba Imuru is a clairvoyant noble phantasm which belongs to the King of Heroes, Gilgamesh. Allowing him to literally see the start of a world to the very end. Not even gods can escape this clairvoyant noble phantasm unless the being he tried to see is beyond the concept of world. Which in Nasuverse are Foreigner class beings and beings that transcended the very concept of creation like a Universal God or higher which the other Ray, the summoner of the Demon God Pillars is.
In the end, his actions were nothing but wasteful and detrimental as he gained nothing in exchange for almost exhausting his mental power using the extremely taxing noble phantasm.
Of course, Ray's action is going as his opponent had planned. Exhausted from his mental power and having no opportunity to recover as the Demon God Pillars that previously stayed still suddenly initiated their attack in perfect coordination, catching everyone off guard.
Hundreds of crimson red laser beams bombarded the HCC headquarter and destroyed the historical building and caused countless deaths as no one survived except the people that gathered in the meeting, shielded by a barrier created from the Primordial Darkness by Nyx.
Simultaneously, somewhere in Kyoto. The other Ray and Tanya arrived through a portal he opened as he marched into the heart of the enemy's territory unhindered and u detected as everyone was focused on the Demon God Pillars.

Looking at the surroundings, the area had been evacuated hastily and most vehicles were abandoned in a hurry. The historical city was deserted and almost devoid of humans at all.
"What next?" Tanya asked and looked excited enough with starry eyes manifesting on her eyes as she looked at Ray expectantly, hoping that he would allow her to participate in the battle too.
Surely, Ray looked hesitant. But he didn't immediately deny her silent request.
"I will take care of the main force while you take care of the weaker one using the Undying Legion I left in your command."
"Alright." Tanya exhaled in relief that she got to participate in the battle and gave Ray a mock salute before summoning a Giant Wraith to be used as a mount as she headed to the direction Ray pointed.
After Tanya left, Ray created a clone of himself to secretly guard Tanya before he floated up to the air and fly to the remains of the HCC headquarter where the main force of this world's defenders are gathered.

Arriving at the ruin of the HCC headquarter, Ray casually glanced at the surrounding as if he was just here for sightseeing before looking at the pitch black dome in the center of the ruin, partially covered by the collapsed rubbles.
He condenses a pale blue flame using psychic energy before flicking it on the barrier which causes ripples to spread on the dome's surface as he flame grows bigger as it devours the energy that formed the dome, causing the dome to fall apart revealing the people underneath it.
Immediately, Ray is greeted by a terrified and awed stare by a petite girl which he immediately recognised is Nyx, the Primordial Goddess of Darkness.
Before Nyx could utter a word, Ray extended his arm and made a grasping motion as his psychic power burst out his body and Nyx instantly fell to the ground in an excruciating expression and terror as she felt her divine soul was crushed and extinguished like a snuffed out ember.
Although Nyx isn't as strong as even Luo Hao in combat ability, her authority as the Primordial Goddess of Darkness is frankly annoying to Ray as the true primordial darkness is none other but void. Her ability to manipulate the void can be troublesome which is why she is eliminated first.
"Nyx!" The other Ray and the two goddesses shouted in panic, especially Ereshkigal who understood the real gravity of the situation.
A soul not from a mortal but a divine being, a goddess and a primordial to the boot, was exterminated just like that. Not just a taboo had been broken but the feat impossible even to the creator god. It's possible for Ray because his divinity is Soul and thus such a feat is possible for him.
"Such a cruel method… her soul was extinguished and her existence was erased forever from the world." Ereshkigal explained in tears to everyone.
"Soul… extinguished?!" Ishtar shouted in shock as she re-evaluate her enemy.
The other Ray however, was kneeling on the ground and supporting Nyx's lifeless body as shadow cast over his face to hide his expression. But from the twitching and trembling of his body, it's clear he is enraged by Nyx's death.
Yet, Ray only watches with disinterest, as if he was watching a boring drama on the television. Though, he did all this on purpose. He purposely enrages his opponent because an enraged opponent tends to be reckless and care little for tactics and level headed decisions.
Godou with his harem consists of the two knights, Erica and Liliana, and the priestess Mariya and Ena, sprung into action after seeing that their Ray was emotionally incapacitated by their opponent's move.
"Cuore de Leone"
"Il Maestro"
Erica and Liliana transformed into their battle uniform in an instant before trying to test their blade on the unknown enemy but one of the pillars, a golden pillar open its eyes and shoot dozens of beam which both knights acted quick and create a magic shield to defend against the incoming beam only for it to shatter on impact and caused the two to spit out mouthful of blood as a result and instantly fell unconscious.
"Puny insects. Your insignificant strengths are unworthy of the King's presence. Know your place!"
The booming voice of the pillar echoes across the city like an earthquake with every word. Then, the eyes on the golden pillar turn bright again just like previously with the only difference is the red energy has a darker shade of red and is accompanied by sparks of crimson lightning streak.
"Erica! Liliana!" Godou shouted desperately as he realized the pillar was trying to finish off his two lovers and he was a step too late as the red beams destroyed their body and not even ash were left behind by the annihilating beam.
"You!!! HOW DARE YOU!!!! I WILL KILL YOU!!!!" Godou becomes enraged and enters a berserked state after seeing Erica and Liliana die. Especially Erica and this time for real.
Although his wrathful charge only reached halfway before Godou suddenly fell to his knees and resisted a force that was crushing his entire body. Which didn't last long as he suddenly died as blood dramatically exploded out his orifices after Ray crushed his soul and body with purely his psychic power.
"Shut up and die, extra." Ray uttered with disinterest and turned his gaze to the other Ray. But before he could take one step forward, a sword was slashing toward his direction and it's the Ame no Murakumo sword, the subordinate god of Kusanagi Godou.
The sword's wielder is Ena Seishuin, another Hime-Miko from Japan and harem member of the now deceased Godou. Seeing that she still dared to risk her life for revenge despite knowing the difference of their power made Ray impressed but unfortunately he didn't want to delay any further as he flicked his finger before a burst of psychic energy hit Ena Seishuin before she fell as if a puppet with its strings cut off.
"Ena-san!" Mariya Yuri shouted in despair as all her fellow sisters were mercilessly killed.
Ignoring the wailing Mariya. Ray approached the other Ray as Ishtar and Ereshkigal become increasingly nervous knowing that they are hopelessly outmatched by their enemy's momentum and strength.
Feeling hopeless and outmatched, the other Ray sighed deeply before asking. "What do you want? What does this meaningless killing do you wish to achieve?"
Perhaps amused by the questions. Ray stopped on his track and laughed a little and replied. "Meaningless? I wouldn't say so. After all, I am exacting my revenge. Although it was a secondary objective compared to harvesting fuel for my power."
"Revenge… I don't even know you nor do I remember ever meeting you!" The other Ray gritted his teeth in anger as he snarled. "What did I ever do to deserve this!"
Suddenly, Ray's expression changed to that of a surprise before opening a portal which Tanya exited along with two Wraith Marine carrying the unconscious female Renard and another female human. Both were covered in many bruises and wounds, clearly being captured by force.
"Oh, you arrived at the perfect timing, Tanya." He praised Tanya with an warm and affectionate headpat before turning to the other Ray as his face reverted to the cold and expressionless mask. "Don't sweat the small details. What matters is that you, along with everyone you care for, will follow you into the afterlife together."
After finishing his sentence, a powerful psychic energy and divine power released from his body as he ripped off the soul of everyone in the vicinity. The weak ones are released while the strong ones are kept away for future uses.
"That's… quite anticlimactic considering you were fighting fiercely in the last timeline." Tanya complained with a bored expression.
"Well, this is the power of preparation and proper planning. I can effortlessly take down my enemies by removing the most troublesome one by manipulating each of their weaknesses and not to mention the lower risk of danger." Ray replied as he picked up the unexpected loot that he gained from this fight.
"Ame no Murakumo, huh… unlike the golden sword which is a weapon created by an authority. It's a tangible weapon that becomes an authority. No wonder it didn't disappear when its wielder was killed."
"Anyway, let's return. The battle with the World's Will is more mentally exhausting than I expected."
"Yeah. I want to take a dip in the hot bath too." Tanya quickly replied and skipped to Ray's side, hugging his arm as they disappeared into a portal that he opened.

(Sorry this took longer than I expected. The ending is a little meh because I forgot the original ending that I had planned and had to make one up on the go.)
