"How is your body?" Ryan asked again for the n-th time that day as they climbed up the hill, heading to the rabid vampires' lair.

Aiden stopped in his tracks. He cocked his head to the side and pinned Ryan with an amused look.

"Didn't you heal me personally? Why don't you have any confidence in your own healing skill?"

Ryan brushed against Aiden's cheek and squeezed it affectionately.

"Isn't it normal for a doctor to inquire after his patient's health?"

Aiden chuckled. He wrapped his arms around Ryan and rubbed his cheek against the latter's chest.

"I am fine," he said. "I really am."

Ryan tilted Aiden's chin upward and locked their lips in a kiss.

Hidden from the rest of the world by the dark curtain of the night and sheltered by a bunch of trees that were packed closely to each other, the two pure-blood vampires exchanged ravenous, all-consuming kisses.
