Chapitre 256: You've done well

Celeste remained on the sofa, fixing her teary eyes on Veron. It was funny how a few days ago she could not stand his presence or his voice. But now, she wished he would just open his eyes and tell her he was okay. 

The moment she first saw his blood stain his shirt when he stubbornly moved against the spear, she dropped all the grudges she held against him. 

He should have just stopped there. At that point, she was willing to forgive him. Maybe she should have told him. Maybe that would have stopped him from going this far.

Yes, she was angry and hated him for what he did. But right from the very day she remembered her past, she knew she wouldn't have been able to kill him. 

If he hadn't meant anything to her before that day, then right then and there, she would have made sure he died.
