Eragon Targaryen

One moment this crazy blonde is looking at me with obvious lust in her eyes and then the next she is looking at me as if I killed her child in front of her...

Oh, wait.

"Jaime Lannister has already sent word ahead that he would not be representing his 'crazy bitch of a Sister' in a Trial by Combat should she request it of him." I speak up while running a finger along a long blade of the throne. "If no one will step forward then Lady Cersei will have to represent herself in the Trial by Combat, as is her right, she requested a fight to prove herself before the 'Gods' and she will get one." I smile down at the Lannister woman who has collapsed on the wooden platform.

I don't think there is a single person here who wants to fight me or one of my Dragons if I named one of them champion. So Cersei has given me the perfect chance to end this farce of a trial and just have her head bitten off... maybe instead I could have one of my wives fight her.

"No one?" I ask loudly as I stand from the throne looking around, the vast empty spaces around the throne room carry my voice regardless of the crowd here today.

That reminds me I need to drag those Dragon Skulls back up here, before they were just a vain attempt to remember our Houses glory. But now they will be a reminder of just how big my scaled children will grow with enough time, a visual reminder. People will visit court for whatever reason they might have, and spot giant skulls bigger than wagons and remember just who it is that they are talking to.

A Targaryen.

A House that has survived the Doom and a few Bloody civil wars only to come back stronger than we have been in hundreds of years.

"Fine, no one will represent Lady Cersei so she will fight for her own life." I shake my head as I walk down the throne. "I would wish you luck but it's in your 'Gods' hands if you shall survive this or not." It will take a God acting to help this woman survive one of my wives or one of my dragons.

"I can't thank you enough for this, I know this is the first time we have really spoken but this means a lot." I look at my daughter who I never got to really know, her mismatched eyes only look at me with disinterest as she waves for me to enter the room she has escorted me to.

"She is in there, my Husband thought it would be a bit too cruel to not even let the both of you say your goodbyes. He himself has a twin so he finds it in poor taste to kill one without letting the other even see them." I nod, I really don't care if the crazy bitch dies but it is nice to see her off.

Without another word, I walk into the dark room after the door is opened by a Summer Islander who walked with Shiera and me. I spot the golden hair catching the torch in the dark before me and frown as my Sister looks up at me like a feral animal.

"You betrayed me." I sigh hearing her first words, I guess it will help to remember her like this and not the little girl I grew up with in Casterly Rock, it will make letting go easier.

"I did no such thing, I was given the simple choice of dying for you and you dying with me or just letting you die... it's not much of a choice if I am honest." I would rather not fight one of those dragons who like to circle the keep all day and night.

I doubt my chances with a sword against their flames.

"You should die with me." She lunges forward trying to grab at my throat but I backhand her and she collapses onto the ground with a sharp cry.

"Calm yourself Cersei, can you not have a clear mind for a moment where you do not think only of yourself." I shake my head wanting to turn around, I got what I wanted from this, a reminder of the person she has become.

"Everything could have been perfect... if only I was not denied the only man I really loved." She holds her knees to her chest as she sobs on the ground, the dirt piss-covered ground of the cell ruining her hair.

I sigh crouching down to try and ease her troubled emotions, but she has long been lost to me. I could not help her, she was lost long before I took notice and it was too late to reach out and help her stand once more. She was deluded into thinking she would be the perfect Queen to Rhaegar and everything would be perfect... she never moved on from that.

The same little girl throwing a fit... she never grew up.

"It would be far more interesting to see a dragon tear her apart, but it would also look like we are going mad. So letting Rhaenys fight her is for the best, it will also show how much of a warrior queen my Rhaenys is compared to the last Rhaenys." I speak up with a small smile on my face, Rhaenys may not be the Queen of Westeros but she is a Queen and I want people to know how different she is from the Rhaenys in the story books.

Just as pretty but vastly more dangerous when not considering their dragons.

I wonder how the first Rhaenys would feel about my Rhaenys, she might not like her because of the Dornish blood but I get an odd feeling they would be good friends.

"You can start it if you want." I nod toward Visenya who is watching her sister with some jealousy, Visenya also wants to show off her combat skills.

Not like I expect Cersei to be able to let them show off any real skills, it should be a one-sided slaughter. But from what Varys told me the Lioness at one point wanted to learn the sword, it is unknown if she did but it was an interesting thing to learn regardless.

"Begin!" Visenya shouts after walking to the edge of the raised platform overlooking the arena.

No Dragon pit this time around, a quick more private battle, no one wants to see a woman get murdered... at least no one good wants to see it. So a quick affair and then sending her head off to Tywin will be the best she is going to get. This really is drawing a line and crossing it, after this House Lannister will have to die, and with Jaime being here that is complicated.

Shiera talked with him for a few moments when she took him to see Cersei before this fight. She said she got all she wanted from him and is fine if he dies but I still feel that it's a bit heartless to kill the man who saved members of my House back in the day. He did good by House Targaryen and even if his House is an enemy he himself does not seem to be.

It's confusing, but I get a sinking feeling I will have to end him at some point regardless of if he is on the side of House Targaryen or not. His family needs to die and I know he won't watch as we kill the ones he actually likes, I can't blame him for it either.

"Did you talk to her before this?" Danny asks from my side and I nod as I watch Rhaenys use her spear to slap Cersei in the face with the butt end.

"She knows she is being watched." Cersei tries to swing the sword she was given, but it goes poorly and she drops it after it collides with the ground.

Rhaenys shakes her head, seemingly disappointed before she plunges the tip of her spear into the chest of the Lioness who lets out a shriek. Blood of the Lion spills and the deed is done, there is no healing that wound and the Lioness falls onto the ground with her limbs going slack. Rhaenys simply turns after spinning her spear flinging the blood off and heads for the exit of the small arena, guards falling in behind her.

"Pity." I mutter as I stand and walk to the edge of the platform, my mind going back to Cersei's words of how 'things could have been'. "The Gods have judged Cersei guilty!" I shout loud enough to be heard while wondering how people believe in any of this 'Combat before the Gods'.

The crowd all stirs with muttering and pointing but soon starts standing and leaving to return to whatever they do when I don't hold court. My eyes land on House Tyrell and the Queen of Thornes who is staring right at me with a hard-to-read aged expression. Her Granddaughter beside her is pale and looking down at the dead Lioness in the arena, I smile at her when she looks up from the corpse at me.

Maybe this will scare them enough that they don't try whatever little game it is they want to play.

"That was... brutal." Putting a noble Lady with no combat experience against an experienced spear woman.

"It was but it was better than if Eragon did it himself or sent a Dragon down to eat her like his Father made fire his own champion knowing no one could beat it." Grandmother seems unbothered by this development, even though it makes my stomach hurt.

"Are we still going to-." She holds up a hand silencing me as she looks around the room.

"The walls have ears, you know better." She sternly says as she narrows her eyes at me. "But yes the plan will continue, this changes nothing." I frown not exactly wanting to jump into this 'Game of Children' that Varys talked about.

Wanting to stir up his own Dance of Dragons so his Niece ends up with a Son on the throne, he was confident that Eragon would eventually fall to her charm. According to Grandmother, it has already happened and she wants to pursue the plan with the old Spy Master. To get our blood on the Throne even if we can't have me be a 'real Queen' by marrying Eragon.

But I feel nervous about seducing him, just to get his child in my womb and have it eventually marry one from Cirilla or Helaena. It seems far more dangerous than this is worth, but the only way anyone will get their blood on the throne at this point is to get a 'Dragon Seed'. They have dragons once more and their blood is more valuable than any gems or gold that can be acquired. Eragon's seed is worth kingdoms since his children will likely all end up with dragons of their own in time.

Varys also spoke of the chance of a Great Council being called, to displace Viserys and put Eragon on the Throne. To unite the Kingdom Eragon has conquered on his own with the Seven Kingdoms, and any more land he plans to take. It is something Varys is certain will happen and he is working to secure the vote for Eragon so his own niece's children stand the best chance of getting onto the throne.

I can't help but feel like we are jumping into the maw of the dragon and praying it won't breathe fire down upon us at a moment's notice. But that is the price you pay when you play the Game of Thrones and I can't back out now without throwing away the efforts put in thus far.
