Selene feels her heart skip a beat and her adrenalin kicks in as she finds the strength to jump out of the seat. She takes off out of the room, leaving a very confused Robbin and Tobin behind. She shifts into her wolf as she hurries out of the house.

“Onyx!” she yells through the mate bond. “Can you hear me?”

It takes a moment, but she makes out a reply. It still sounds like he’s miles away, but Selene’s overjoyed to be able to talk to him again.

“Selene, I can hear you. Are you okay?”

“Yes, I’m fine,” she says while still running. Selene finds a place where she can hear him clearly. “Come home, I’m not in the Coven village anymore,” she says while pacing.

“I know,” he calls back. “We met up with Frank and Twitch yesterday. They told us. We will be there soon, please tell Tobin to expect thirty shifters.”
