Chapter 8
Alex sat on the hood of her car and watched the stars, hugging her knees to her chest. After everything happened, she came here to think.
"Yo!" Alex didn't even bother looking at Gabriel as he flew in and leaned against the car beside her. "What happened? You don't look very happy."
"I'm never happy." Alex muttered. "We lost Ellen and Joe, the Colt didn't work, and..." Alex sighed.
"And...?" Gabriel pressed.
Alex sighed again and lowered her knees from her chest, then lifted up both of her wrists. A gold wire-type thing appeared, wrapping around both wrists like handcuffs. Alex looked at Gabriel to see his reaction and wasn't surprised.
"Dammit, Alex! How did that happen!?" Gabriel yelled, moving so he was standing in front of her.
Alex lowered her arms, the wire fading, although it was still there. "I...I don't know. Castiel got captured and I was with him and I just...froze..." Gabriel sighed. "What do we do?" Alex spoke, kind of quietly.
"I don't know if there's anything we do." Gabriel crossed his arms. "He used the same spell on Death, it's not something that can easily be broken."
"Wait, Death? Like the horseman? Like the Grim Reaper?" Alex's eyes widened.
"Yep. That's the one." He nodded.
Alex covered her face with her hands then ran them through her hair. "Well I'm fucked."
"Has he made you do anything yet?"
"No. Not really. He actually told me to go back to Sam and Dean and to act like everything was normal." Alex informed him. "I dislike this whole not knowing what to do thing." Alex muttered.
Gabriel laughed a little, "We'll figure something out."
"That's not what you told the Winchesters..." Alex raised an eyebrow at him.
Gabriel was taken-aback, "I-I uh..."
"Whatever, I don't even care really. I'm stressed at the moment." Alex put her head in her hands again. "I liked life a lot better when I thought I was a normal person."
Gabriel was at a loss for words. "Well, ah...how's Leo?"
"Dunno. I ordered him to go home but I haven't been there yet. I came straight to here." Alex sighed. "Can we do something?"
"Like what?"
"I don't know... Know any fun places?" Alex stood up and brushed herself off.
"Of course I do." Gabriel smirked and wiggled his eyebrows.

Alex and Gabriel couldn't stop laughing as the large muscular guard threw them out the back door to a five-star restaurant. They had gotten thrown out for picking on the waiter and starting a food fight with another table. The manager stood in the back doorway, yelling at them in Italian. Yes, they were in Italy as well. Gabriel calmed his laughter and yelled back at the man in Italian as well.
"You know Italian?" Alex laughed, standing up.
"Sì, lo faccio. (Yes, I do)" Gabriel smirked, "I can speak French as well."
Alex rolled her eyes, "Of course you can." She was feeling much better about everything that was going on, Gabriel was good at getting her mind off of things. They walked down the street together as the sun began to rise. They had been messing around all night.
"So, what else do you wanna do?" Gabriel asked, matching her pace.
"Well I chose the restaurant, so why don't you choose?" Alex shrugged.
"We could always go back to my place." Gabriel offered, smirking again.
Alex slapped him on the arm, "No, shut up." Gabriel laughed and Alex blushed a little. They walked in silence for a while longer before Alex decided what she wanted to do.
"Maybe I should head home... I never even told anyone I was leaving."
"Yeah..." Gabriel sighed. "You had fun though, right?"
"Mmmh. Got my mind off of things for a while." Alex smiled, and they stopped walking.
"Good." He nodded.
"Well, I'll see you later?" Alex asked.
"Yeah, sure." Before Gabriel could decide, Alex teleported away. He sighed,
Alex looked around her room wildly. "Where are you." She demanded.
"Lucifer." She muttered.
Alex scoffed. . She sighed heavily when she didn't get a reply, meaning he probably left.
"" Alex thought about what Lucifer said. "We're not that close... Just friends... Right?" Alex talked to herself. She didn't want something bad to happen to Gabriel like Matt, so she refused to confront her feelings towards him.
~
A few weeks passed and nothing happened. Alex stayed inside, doing nothing most of the time. "I'm so bored!" She groaned and flopped onto her bed, flailing around in frustration.
She had learned of some events that would be taken place shortly, like how Famine would begin his work, along with Death, who would rise the dead to deal with something Lucifer wouldn't tell her. Alex assumed he kept things from her because technically, she was still on Sam and Dean's side, and could tell them things, even if Lucifer said not to.
"All of them...." Alex muttered. "I can't do it."
"Can't do what?"
"Why do you always have perfect timing?" Alex sat up. "It's like some cheesy love story." She pushed her previous thoughts out of her head, knowing Gabriel always liked to poke around in there.
"So, what's up? It's been a while." He patted Leo, who had been laying on the bed with Alex.
"It hasn't even been a week." Alex raised an eyebrow. "But nothing much has happened..."
"No news from my bro?"
"Nope." Alex answered simply. She obviously had strict orders not to tell anyone about Lucifer's plans.
Gabriel gave her a look, knowing she was lying. "Really...?"
"I can't..." Alex muttered. She didn't know what would happen if she told anyone, and didn't want to find out.
Gabriel sighed, "Yeah, I get it."
"So..." Alex swung her legs, lightly kicking the bed. "What do you want to do?"
"Whatever you'd like."
"I don't know, You pick." Alex shrugged.
"Hmm..." Gabriel tapped his chin with his pointer finger. "What's your favorite country? Or place?"
"Uh... Probably Italy, but we already went there so..." Alex was clueless.
"How about the Grand Canyon?" Gabriel suggested.
"How original," Alex laughed sarcastically. "But sure, why not. I've never been there before."
"Then let's go." Gabriel snapped his fingers and they were standing on the edge of a cliff.
"Woah wait! Are we supposed to be here!? Isn't there a path to follow?!" Alex jumped away from the edge and clung to Gabriel.
Gabriel laughed, "We're fine. It's not like you're going to fall." He lightly pushed her and she squealed, making him laugh harder.
"Hey! I'm still part human dude! I fall, I die." Alex moved so she was standing behind him, holding on to his shirt.
"I know, I know. But you're not going to fall. I'm here." He soothed, still chuckling. "Well, look. Nice view, huh?"
Alex peeped her head over his shoulder and looked at the scene before them. "Wow..." She moved away from Gabriel a little, to get a better view of the orange and brown cliffs.
"An angel made this actually," Gabriel commented.
"Seriously?" Alex smiled a little, "Well, they did a good job I suppose."
"Look how high up we are." Gabriel walked closer to the edge and peered over.
"Are you trying to kill me?!" Alex backed away from the edge. "Get back over here before you fall." She ordered.
"Okay, mom." Gabriel laughed.
Alex rolled her eyes, "Shut up."
Gabriel smirked, "Make me."
Alex raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms. "What are you trying to do? Idiot." She laughed a little.
"What...Nothing..." Gabriel defended himself. "Unless it's working, then-"
"No, it's not working." Alex rolled her eyes.
"What about this?" Without any other warning, Gabriel grabbed Alex by the waist and pulled her close to him, pressing his lips against hers. Alex froze, shocked. Before she could react properly, Gabriel pulled away and looked down at her.
"I-uh..." Alex was at a loss for words. She noticed Gabriel was still holding onto her waist and blushed deeply. They stood there, staring at each other before Alex found some confidence and leaned up to kiss Gabriel. It lasted longer this time, and they both participated.
When they pulled away Gabriel smirked, "I guess it worked." Alex blushed again, turning a deeper red than before.
