Chapitre 2: Lannisport

I woke up feeling very well, much better than the day before when I had just transmigrated into an injured body and activated the system.

My body was all but healed which showed the effect of the pills given by the system at the 1st sign-in was very powerful.

I sat up and inspected my arms and legs, feeling no problem made me sigh in relief as I took a deep breath to calm my mind and ignore the hunger and thirst I was feeling.

I knew what a Sign-in System was or rather had a general idea of what it could do based on what I had read before. A system like this could be used at special locations to get special items or the like. This didn't mean it couldn't be used in ordinary places, rather, the rewards for singing in ordinary locations were not good enough so it was a waste. This meant I had to go to places rich in history or of great significance in the world for the best outcome.

I didn't know the limits of the inventory so I tried to put a rotten apple in it but failed, it seemed only system items could be stored there.

As for the origins of the system and how I came to be here, I wasn't that clueless. It was obvious that the light I had seen after death had been the system and it had brought me here, I had been the one to extend my hand and grab it to escape being pulled into the wormhole which meant there was no sinister plot behind it, probably...

This fact told a lot about reality and such, but I didn't want to linger on useless things like that at the moment, at least I knew that there was life after death which helped calm me a lot.

Seeing that there was no more to the system, I decided to move on as I stood up and began doing stretches.

Musing over my current circumstances and the clues around me, I easily realized some basic things.

First, seeing I was in the slums of some city called Lannisport, and judging by the state of this place and my possession or the lack of them, meant calling myself poor would be an insult to poor people. I was homeless at best.

Second, there was no technology apparent which meant this was most certainly a medieval world since there were what appeared to be a castle and stone walls.

Third, the injuries on the body which had probably caused its death and my crossover to this world meant that I wasn't safe in any way; There were probably some people who either wanted the previous owner dead or had beaten him for some other reason. In either case, I needed to get stronger fast.

All in all, I quickly realized my current plight, and what I needed to survive.

The most important thing, for all those who go through transmigration and the like, is without doubt information. Knowledge is power. Which meant I had to gather information as fast as possible.

The next important thing is resources; While the system was there, I couldn't count on it as the rewards were random. What I needed was wealth to nurture this body back to health and get a decent living condition to not get any sickness and die randomly. This would solve all other problems like food and such.

Then there was the problem of where to sign in today and etc.

With a plan in mind, I became determined and stopped stretching.

I went through the door and the familiar street greeted me. It was early morning as the sun had just risen. There were significantly fewer people on the ground compared to yesterday.

I took a good look around, seeing more details than the day before. There were small worn out and torn tents all over and people slept in them. I turned away and picked the direction of the walls and began walking while memorizing the way, the last thing I needed was to get lost.

Doing my best to ignore the sensation of walking barefoot on the ground, I quickly reached the wall and looked to my left it stretched without an end, but to my right, I saw a gate close by, most of the noise came from that direction.

'So I am outside the city...' I understood and made my way to the gate.

After a few minutes, I arrived in front of the gate.

I saw a bazaar on the other side of the gate, and even though it was early morning, there were many people around, taking a deep breath, I entered the city. The sleepy guards of the gate didn't bother looking at me as I walked past them. Taking a look around, I saw food stalls the most, then other things such as clothes, etc.

I walked slowly and listened to what people were saying, surprisingly they spoke English. 'Am I in old England?' I wondered.

Looking at the architecture of the building ahead made me think my assumption was probably true, that was until I heard someone say something while passing me by.

"Carry these to Casterly Rock, and these to..." I didn't listen to the rest, for I was stunned on the spot.

'Casterly Rock?! That means... This can't be!' I approached the man and grabbed his shoulder, a frantic look on my face.

"Did you say Casterly Rock?! Who is the king? Do you know someone called Jaime Lannister?" I asked quickly.

The merchant turned and looked at me, instantly becoming disinterested when he saw my attire. "Are you crazy, lad? Who doesn't know Robert Baratheon is the king?! Go away less you affect my business!" He pushed me away.

I controlled my balance to not fall as I processed it quickly. 'I am in Westeros... So fictional worlds are real... I am not that surprised, if a system is why not?!' I sighed.

'If Robert is alive that means shit hasn't hit the fan yet...'

Feeling a great sense of urgency, I took a deep breath and calmed down. 'At least I know some things about this world, it is better to be in a fictional one than to be in the unknown. That might be why the system brought me here...'

I walked away to the center of the Bazaar, things got better looking and fancier, with many thoughts in my head I didn't pay much attention.

The system notification startled me awake.

[Significant Location Detected. Sign in at the Main Market of Lannisport?]

"Yes." I whispered.

[Signed in Successfully. You have earned 370 Gold Dragons (Currency of the Realm)]

Looking at the shiny coins appearing in my inventory made me drool.
