Marble 8 Steak House and Fine dining, Level 56, KLCC
Cathrin arrived for the date wearing a vibrant red bodycon dress and her hair was pulled back into a sleek black ponytail that was shoulder length. She was wearing the outfit, which accentuated all of her body characteristics in the right way, making her appear absolutely stunning. Cathrin was the type of person who went to the gym on a regular basis and had a very stringent diet. As a result, she had a body that made men drool.
As a matter of fact, the instant she entered the restaurant, a lot of people's heads turned, including the heads of ladies. Robin, who was sitting on a chair there waiting for her, gestured with a raised hand where he was sitting. She approached with a broad grin on her face. Even in his semi-formal attire, Robin looked absolutely great.
"Did you have to wait long?" Cathrin inquired, feeling a little self-conscious about the fact that she was running late because of traffic. She opted for a different dress at the last minute in order to give Robin the impression that they were going out on a date. As a result of the fact that red was the colour that was typically linked with seduction, she wanted to make sure that Robin knew that she was here to mean "business" with Robin and not simply be a third wheel.
She couldn't shake the feeling that there was something going on between Sigret and Myrene when it came to Robin, but at the same time, a part of her was telling her that these girls weren't something to be afraid of. This date was planned with the express purpose of determining not only Robin's feelings but also her own feelings as well.
"No.. No.. Just a few minutes... Uhh.. You look beautiful." Robin paid her some compliments. She looked a little red in the face and then sat down. They started chatting about completely unrelated topics in an effort to make the conversation feel less awkward.
"By the way, you never mentioned what it is that you do, did you?" Cathrin inquired because she was intrigued by the topic. Robin had never given a detailed description of his work, and she was curious about it.
"That is quite difficult to understand. My company, which is based in the Netherlands and goes by the name Darkstar, is an investment firm that has holdings in a variety of different global corporations. Recently we have acquired a major stake in Labcorp which a laboratory that invents new medicine. This nation will soon begin conducting a fresh drug test that will continue for the next few months, and that is why I am here and in order to see the whole situation first hand ." Robin stated.
"Is there a new drug test? Similar to the clinical trials that were conducted when the first COVID vaccinations became available." Cathrin inquired because she had very limited expertise regarding the pharmaceutical industry.
"Something along those lines." Robin nodded. As this was a lengthy process, there was no point in explaining it to her anyway. There, she gained an understanding of Myrene's role as a business partner as well as Sigret's management style for the company.
At that point, the meal had already been delivered, and the two of them had ordered sushi and other dishes from the Japanese cuisine that they both cherished. As this restaurant had received many positive reviews, it was to be expected that the food would be of great quality.
"How many days more you are here?" Cathrin had a question.
"I am not sure. In any case, it's not like I'll be required to go back to Amsterdam. It does not matter where I am."
"So you are just a rich gipsy?" Since he had indicated that he owned a company that tested pharmaceuticals, and that the company was located in an entirely different nation, Cathrin raised the question because she could already make an educated judgement as to how wealthy this man was. She may not have had a medical background, but she knew her way around a business. Robin gave it a grin and commented on it.
"That makes little difference even if I have a billion dollars in the bank. The majority of it consists of assets, and to lead a lavish lifestyle like mine, one does not require a great deal of money. It would only take a few millions, and that would be sufficient. A person's lifespan simply isn't long enough to spend billions of dollars. At least, not on this planet." At the very end, Robin said, and he particularly highlighted the planet Earth. Cathrin acknowledged her understanding with a nod.
"I would like if you stay here for quite sometime. I really hope we get the chance to hang out again." In the very end, Cathrin said while showing a hint of blush.
"And I'd be interested in it as well. It's possible that I'll be sticking around for a while." Robin stated.
Once they had finished their meals, the two of them came to the conclusion that they would take a trip outside of the city to an area with less light pollution that would enable them to observe the night sky from an elevated position. While Cathrin drove her car and navigated the area, Robin sat in the passenger seat and observed the roads with a little blank look. Cathrin was familiar with the area. While driving with one hand, Robin mustered up the confidence to take Cathrin's hand as it lay on the side of the road. He did it very gingerly.
She shuddered a bit but then she also reciprocated with holding his hand. They were both grinning from ear to ear even though neither of them dared to look at the other. They went on to discuss their lives and the conditions in which they had grown up in great detail. As a result of the fact that both of her parents were of Chinese descent, she was raised up in an environment that was predominately Chinese cultural.
Because her parents had spent a significant amount of time working in the media industry, it was very simple for her to get work in the same industry as a result of her parents' contacts. Despite the fact that she left home at a relatively young age, established her own life, and put in a lot of effort to get where she is now, she talked very highly of her connections from her past. This demonstrated that despite the fact that she was wealthy, she retained her modesty.
Cathrin found the story of Robin to be like something out of a fairy tale. Before his previous investments from a significant amount of time ago, he was a nobody, but all of a sudden, he rose to what he was. This was, without a doubt, a fabrication. He was unable to reveal to her the extent of his ability.
At long last, they arrived at the lookout point, which was located a significant distance from the city and afforded clear views of the night sky, albeit with some clouds. They were able to get away with simply sitting on the bonnet of the automobile because the wind wasn't particularly strong. She did so very gently, resting her head on his shoulder as she kept her composure throughout the conversation. After sometime Robin asked.
"You must be a little lost when it comes to the nature of my connections with both my business partner and my secretary. Is it not so?"
"Umm... I wouldn't say that." Cathrin was caught off guard by this question, and so, she was unsure of how to respond to it. Robin gave a friendly smile before responding.
"I know how it looks like from a different perspective but I can assure you that there isn't anything between me and them. They have been there for me ever since I set out on this endeavor, and although our connection is strictly professional, I consider them to be my supporters. That will become clear to you very shortly if you know me better."
When Cathrin saw how forthright Robin was being, she was a little taken aback. Robin was not a dolt who was ignorant to the things going on in the world. Because he had travelled over Europe with them, he was aware of how their relationship appeared to other people. Because of this, he did not want there to be any misunderstandings or uncertainties in her mind if they wanted to take their relationship to the next level.
"Thank you." Cathrin shared her thoughts, and she expressed her gratitude, not for the fact that she was spared from having to "fight" with the other girls but rather for the fact that he was honest with the situation and communicated effectively. Even if there was a possibility that Robin was lying as well, she decided to give the other person a chance anyhow.
She inched her way closer and closer to his face.
While she did so on his face, Robin could feel her breath, and in a matter of a few seconds, his lips felt a sensation of touch with another skin. Cathrin's cheeks turned a brilliant shade of crimson as a result of the fact that it was the first time she had kissed someone on a first date, despite the fact that she felt a very strong connection to Robin.
And Robin, too, shared the same sentiments. Because it had been so long since he had been on a date, he, too, was delighted with the situation. Following the passionate embrace, they continued their stargazing session, during which Robin shared his "crazy fantasy" of travelling across space. Cathrin let out a wry smile as he described his fantasy, knowing full well that this was a fantasy shared by everybody. She just didn't know that this fantasy of his was going to be very real, very soon.
The phone of Robin suddenly began to ring. This made him irritated. He had made it clear to JARVIS that he did not want any calls to be ignored if there was not some form of urgent situation.
"Hello."
"Your friends will be arriving in a short while. Do you want to wait until your guests come to enter your home?" It was Sigret who made the phone call.
"My friends?" Robin appeared to be perplexed.
Sigret's response was, "Yeah, from the United States."
"Aah.." Robin came to realisation.
"I will be there. Let them wait." After then, Robin continued to say. After then, he ended the call by hanging up. The Central Intelligence Agency was referred to as her "friends." He was aware that the CIA was seeking for him and that they could attack at any time. It appeared as though they had run out of patience and were intent on spoiling his date day.
"Is there a problem?" Catrhrin had a question.
"Nah. There are certain folks who only want to aggravate me slightly. Let them remain patient." Robin stated. They stayed with her for another half an hour, conversing and spending time with her before heading back to the city. She was the one who drove the vehicle, and because Robin had left the vehicle in the KLCC, it was her responsibility to drop him off there.
As they were going to be in this area for a considerable amount of time, Sigret coerced Robin into renting a villa in a gated community. This decision was made a couple of days earlier.
"I just wanted to thank you for such a wonderful time." Cathrin reported that he exited the car at that point.
"Thank you to you as well, and who knows, maybe we might do something like this again."
"Of course. I would love to, the next 2 days I am a little busy with my work. We can go again on Thursday." Cathrin stated that she was extremely excited for another date since she was looking forward to it.
