Christopher interrupts his own story, standing suddenly. His tale is already so sad, and I sense it’s only going to get sadder. God’s Shadow, what a joke. They murdered Christopher's parents right in front of him, then adopted him to commit atrocities for a ticket to Heaven.

How confused and strange it must have been to befriend his parents’ murderers. Captain Hanson—Is he related to the same Hanson at the hotel's front desk? Or is he something else, like Christopher? Just how many immortals are on this island—This is where I’m supposed to be, after all. But I’m no closer to answers than when I first arrived.

Now I’m the one holding back secrets—How will he react to me telling him I’m immortal as well? ‘Can it be reversed?’

“What is it, Christopher?”

“They’re inside the cave… they’re close.”

‘Do I even want to reverse my immortality at this point?’
