Chapitre 20: What ever it takes I will go back

I don't know any parent-child song other than this but I think it's perfect.

"I just met you... It seems like yesterday,"

"You opened up your eyes, and I recognized your face." Singing this part I couldn't help but think about my cousins.

Ericka and Elijah.

"You know that you're the one that we've been waiting for,"

"We're gonna keep you safe..."

"First I held you in my arms, I knew I'd love you all the way." The day that my mother and I started living with her sister, because my mother's illness was getting worse, was the day that I first met the two of them.

I held Ericka at that time when she was just a few months old and I never knew that little bundle of a child would grow to be so close to me.

"I tuck you in at night, another day has passed."

"Every week goes by a little faster than the last."

Days go faster and you wouldn't even notice it.

My Mother, who was expected not to live past a year, had lived for almost 2 years. The little bundle of a child became a toddler, and the once a ball of a sunshine Elijah became the moody teen that he is.

"It wasn't so long ago,"

"We walked together and you held my hand,"

I can still remember the first time Ericka walked without any baby walkers. She walked to me with wobbly steps as if she would fall anytime but she was able to reach me, with her arms wide open as she hugged on to me and a big grin plastered on her cute face.

"And now you're getting too big to want to."

Nah, Ericka is still a little girl that she is. When we go out, she would not just hold my hand but instead stick to me like a koala.

"But I hope you'll always understand,"

"That I'm always gonna lift you up,"

"And I'm never gonna let you down."

"No matter what you do, I'm forever proud of you."

"I love you forever now."

"Through your ears I hear it, through your eyes I see,"

"A world full of magic, full of possibilities."

I couldn't help but get excited just thinking about all the stories I can share to Ericka about everything that happened in this world.

Now that I think about it, not everyone will think I'm crazy, as I know she will believe what ever I say despite it sounding ridiculous and impossible, because for that little ray of sunshine, anything is possible.

Even transmigrating to a fantasy romance novel is possible for her.

"You know as well as anybody how tough this life can be,"

Because my mother and I transferred from one province to another, I had a hard time settling on her sister's place. I was new to the school and the people, so I stayed at home most of the time, even after class.

I never had close friends because of this, and the two have been my company ever since.

"But you've got so much strength inside you,"

"A strength I pray you'll never need."

I failed to realize that I was crying since my mind was so preoccupied with the memories that were beginning to resurface. It wasn't until I shed a tear and tasted the bitterness of being apart from your loved ones that I realized what had happened.

I extended the strumming in an effort to calm myself down before the bridge and the next chorus.

"And I'm always gonna lift you up,"

"And I'm never gonna let you down,"

"Time flies by,"

"I hope you realize that I..."

"Love you forever now."

"I'm always gonna be right here,"

"Always gonna cheer you up,"

"I'm always gonna have your back,"

"You're never gonna be alone."

"And I'm always gonna lift you up,"

"No I'm never gonna let you down,"

I promise them both that I'm going to be a successful engineer, and I will build the coolest house for them, with all the technology and stuff.

Make Elijah his own room because he doesn't want to share with Ericka because her stuff is all colored pink and he hates it.

She sleeps in my room though because it's much more comfortable for her which I understand because Elijah tends to kick in his sleep.

So, even with my small bed, I would always leave a space for her and her teddy bear that I bought for her.

"No matter what you do, I'm forever proud of you."

"I love you forever now,"

Damn those kids, I miss them both.

I miss my life in my world.

I don't mind waking up early just to cook for them because their classes starts at 7 am and even though mine starts at 10:30 am.

I don't mind staying up late at night t iron their uniforms while memorizing some freakin' math formulas.

I don't mind not having close friends because I have those 2 children.

It was tiring but I was happy because they were there.

Ericka with her messy yet lovely drawings and Elijah with his lame ass jokes— I don't even recall laughing at any of them, instead it's his way of telling that always ends with me having a burst of laughter.

Thinking of them makes me want to leave this world more.

I'm gonna do what ever it is that I have in order to go back to my world.

What ever it takes, I will go back to them.

"I love you forever now..."

After I did the outro I immediately put down the guitar and was about to wipe my wet cheeks with my hands when I felt something soft hit my hand.

"Thank you," I softly mumbled in a small voice when I realized it was a handkerchief.

"I'm sorry about that My Lord, I was just too carried away with my song. I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable in any way." I apologized. It was supposed to be a song to lift his mood up but instead I must have made his mood much worse.

"Lady Rose, everything about your performance is beautiful. You don't need to apologize for it. I'm honored to witness such an emotional piece from you."

"Re—Really? Well that's a relief. I just couldn't help but think about my cousins."

"Why don't you tell me about them? Sound like they are lovely people for you to cry like that." I was stumped by his words.

It's okay to tell him right?
