Holly Adams POV:

Andy and I sat in the conference room at Philips’ precinct; the same conference room where Chandler had told me that I was supposed to be King’s girlfriend. Philips was somewhere else speaking with his superiors, meaning we were in the dark until then.

We both turned expectantly when Philips finally came back.

“I’m sorry for the wait,” he told us as he circled the table. “Considering the recent developments there were a lot of people who needed to be informed, and a lot of decisions to be made.”

“How many of those decisions are relevant to us?” Andy asked.

Philips gave him a hard look. “This has more to do with Corporal Adams than you, I’m afraid.” He turned to me. “The investigation into Rafael King is being concluded,” he told me.

I was taken aback. I’d thought there was a lot more to do still. “Is this because of Chandler?” I asked.
