Chapitre 110: Sia's Might

[...I'll kill it myself.]

Achilles jumped to a nearby tree as he waited for the worm to approach.

As the creature got closer, he channeled essences through his eyeballs and brain, increasing his eyesight and brain capacity.

His gaze darted through every part of the Armored Leechworm, searching for a cranny beneath all those armor plates.

The parasite shot its tentacles forward at a terrifying speed, but thanks to his enhanced eyes and brain, he was able to predict this attack and retreated to another tree.

Boom!

He ran deeper into the woods as the Corrupted relentlessly chased after him.

Achilles occasionally glanced back at the abomination, trying to find its weak spot, but to no avail.

'Need to get closer.' He clicked his tongue in annoyance.

He changed his course and moved sideways, letting the worm catch up to him a little.

The monster, however, seemed to realize what he was trying to do as it didn't try to chase after him.

It dug a hole in the ground and crawled down, disappearing from sight.

Achilles saw what happened and he stopped moving entirely. He gestured to Sia to not make any unnecessary movement.

The latter understood what he tried to convey and silently nodded her head.

A minute later, there was still no sign of the Leechworm crawling out from the ground.

'What's it planning to do now?' Cold sweat soaked Achilles' back as he became more nervous every second.

Rumble!

Suddenly, the ground trembled for a second before multiple tentacles rose from beneath it.

One of them was right under where Achilles was standing which made him jump back in surprise.

The worm had sensed the sound created by his action and it sent out its tentacles to pursue him.

The particular tentacle that missed him also turned a ninety-degree angle and followed him.

'What the...?'

It was at this moment that Achilles noticed something. Even though it was only a sudden flash that one could easily forget, his enhanced eyeballs and brain capacity saw it as clear as the sun.

That small glimpse of the image had been printed on his brain completely, he could never forget it even if he wanted to.

'...Maybe this would work.'

He nearly dodged three tentacles in front of him as one of them gave his arm and leg minor wounds.

Ignoring the pain, he urgently asked Sia:

[Can you use that skill? I'll distract it, you just need to use all of your powers on the single spot I'll tell you.]

[Yes.] The little succubus answered without an ounce of hesitation.

Achilles nodded in satisfaction.

[Good. Now use the Shroud to hide yourself and only come out when I tell you. Understood?]

Sia immediately used the "Darkness' Shroud" on herself and disappeared from Achilles' hands.

The silvery-white-haired beauty left a few fleeting words that got blown away by the wind soon after.

[You can do this.]

His gaze became blood-red and he changed his direction to face the worm.

The tentacles immediately clashed with him head-on as they tried to kill him.

Achilles used his flexibility and avoided the barrage of attack directed at him.

Once he managed to bypass them, the tentacles changed their direction again.

Thanks to that, he had seen what he saw earlier one more time.

'...Got you.'

Now, Achilles was completely sure that he didn't hallucinate and saw things wrong.

With Sia's devastating firepower, what he had planned out was in fact — plausible.

All he needed, was to be in the right place — at the right time — during the right moment.

'I need to get this cowardly thing out of the ground first.' He landed on the ground where the worm had dug with a light step.

The rusted tentacles didn't as they closed upon him instantly.

But before they were able to get to him, he raised both his fists high...and punched down with all his might.

BOOM!

The tentacles shivered after the force behind the punch as they stopped moving for a second.

Achilles didn't stop at that as he activated "Mantis' Armament" and slammed his fists down again.

BOOOM!

The force was a thousand times more powerful than the last as some trees shook violently by the tremors.

What came after that was a torrent of punches aimed at one single position on the ground.

The earth was shaken so much that it seemed like it was about to explode.

The cause of all this — Achilles, was smiling with a wicked glint on his face.

He could feel something trying to crawl upwards to escape the ground.

[...There you are.]

Like a reply to his words, an armored worm-like creature appeared from the ground. It let out multiple painful shrieks:

"KYARGHH!!!!"

The Leechworm thrashed around as rocks were thrown everywhere by its large body.

While it was squirming left and right, Achilles approached it stealthily as he saw the same thing happen with the tentacles on the worm's body.

He signaled Sia who was quietly standing a distance away to follow.

He wanted her to utilize this hard to come by chance and finished the leader, but to his luck, the worm recovered in time and used its tentacles to attack him again.

'Wonderful.' He thought sarcastically.

Although he was annoyed by these tentacles, they did not pose that much of a threat to him anymore.

The tentacles were indeed fast, and extremely deadly.

...But they had one fatal weakness.

'Be less predictable next time you bastard!!'

Achilles dodged all the incoming attacks headed at him with ease. After fending off against these things and watching how they move, he had begun to grow accustomed to them.

And when he used his essences to strengthen his brain and eyesight, he was able to completely peer through their pattern as long as he wasn't caught on by surprise.

As he arrived closer to the Leechworm, the latter began to realize that its attempt was not working on the slippery human in front of it.

With one enraged roar, it opened its sharp mouth wide and assaulted Achilles from above, its tentacles approaching him from all sides to not let him escape in any way.

Achilles stopped running and stared at the looming shadow above him. A devious smile appeared on his face.

Then, he snapped his fingers loudly and shouted:

[SIA, NOW! DO IT NOW!!!]

He didn't specify what to aim at since he knew for sure that the little elf had also seen it just like he had.

A shadow shot out from behind him as it jumped on top of the Armored Leechworm.

The figure of the divine beauty appeared above the sky, she held her katana tightly as thunder manifested itself around her blade.

Sia's three voices overlapped each other. Each like was like a decree of a god — cold — cruel — callous.

[Die.]

BOOOM!!!
