Chapitre 95: Leap of Faith
Achilles started running with full might to the skyscraper, at the same time, the spiderlings had begun moving again as they scattered everywhere.
The Mother Spider had probably realized that he couldn't simply vanish into thin air and sent her boy scouts out to search for his traces.
While the spiderlings were searching for him, the giant spider had managed to stand up on its feet. Its eight red eyes glowed brightly and it moved forward. Each step seemed to be able to shake the entire world.
The Mother Spider looked as if it was walking slowly, but that was merely an illusion caused by the scale of things.
In reality, its speed toward the skyscraper could only be described as monstrous.
At this rate, the giant spider might reach the tower before he was able to.
Achilles glanced at the beauty he was carrying and his mind turned more alarmed and anxious.
Sia's ivory skin was turning deadly pale as her breathing became rougher and more ragged. She had to take short, rapid breaths in order to maintain her stamina which was being drained away by the loss of essences.
Achilles felt a prick in his heart and hugged her even tighter, he then whispered caringly:
[Hold on a while more, I'll get us there soon.]
[Yeah...but hurry...we don't think...we can keep this going much longer.] Sia nodded her head and spoke after much effort.
Achilles with renewed determination, channeled even more essences on his body as he shot forward. He soon reached the tower and ran upwards with his superhuman strength.
The Mother Spider seemed to have noticed something and it commanded its army to move around frantically. The former also increased its speed which made the tremors on the ground turned more frequent.
'Come on! Come on! Come on! Faster!!'
Achilles was halfway up to the top and just at that exact moment, Sia's essences ran out — the "Darkness' Shroud" stopped working instantly — revealing the couple who was running up to the skyscraper.
The spiderlings and Mother Spider turned their eyes at the duo simultaneously. Achilles and Sia, who was near unconscious felt a thousand gazes piercing their back that made their spines shudder.

The spiderlings shrieked crazily as they started dashing to where the tower was, the Mother Spider was no later as it started making its earth-trembling steps again, this time with a clear destination.
In just a blink of an eye, the spiderlings had reached the skyscraper and started climbing upwards with their disgusting legs.
Soon the spiderlings had stuck on every corner of the skyscraper and Mother Spider was now only a few steps away from reaching the tower.
...Just in time so that Achilles reached the top.
He stared indifferently at the humongous spider that was definitely another mutation amongst its peer. Specifically, he was staring at a particular position on the spider's body — the place where Sia had fired the devastating shot using most of her essences.
There was a giant wound where blood was profusely leaking out, but the spider seemed unperturbed by the loss of blood and continued advancing without any problem.
By this point, the spiderlings had made it halfway to the top and the Mother Spider was practically in front of his very eyes.
Achilles nudged Sia lightly who was nearly passing out in his hands, the latter silently looked at him with a puzzled expression on her beautiful but inhumanly pale face.
[Hold onto me tightly.] Achilles said before turning back to the Mother Spider.
Sia wrapped her entire arms around his body and pressed herself tightly onto him. Once he saw that the beauty had held him firmly, he let go of one hand holding her to summon his axe, the other hand he grabbed onto her round buttocks to keep her secured.
The Mother Spider now stood directly in front of him as it prepared to spit out something, the spiderlings had also arrived at the top of the tower and now surrounded him from all angles.
Taking a deep breath, Achilles kept his gaze on the spider, who was about to attempt to do something to him.
[Just a leap of faith. We know you can do it.] Sia muttered beside his ears while tightening her body around him.
He felt his mind become steadier by her soothing words as determination began fuelling him.
A second later, the Mother spit a green liquid that flew at him in just a few seconds. It was some kind of corrosion acid or a certain type of venom.
Achilles channeled essences to strengthen his body to the peak level, and with a single leap, he headed directly at the Mother Spider while avoiding the acid attack.
His figure flew across the dark sky together with a valuable diamond in his arms. If Achilles fails, both Sia and he will die.
...That was why he must succeed.
