Josie couldn't stop herself from watching Dahlia out of the corner of her eye. She had a job to do, and having a distraction while in the middle of a life or death encounter wasn't exactly the ideal way to stay alive, but she couldn't help it; it was impossible for her to tear away her attention. The young woman she swore on the heavens to serve was already so different from when they met only a month prior. No matter how much she still needed to grow and how inexperienced she still was, Dahlia was like a shining beacon to the Marquise and the woman just couldn't look away.

Ok, soooooooo, I hope you enjoyed the conclusion of the Menhrolith battle! Now that we made it this far I'm just gonna brag about the chapter's title because I'm very proud of it~ It has three meanings! Three! I'm chuffed.
Jokes aside though, this might have hit some readers hard and, if it did, I apologise and hope you take care of yourself. Mental health is important and I know content like this can be rough on the psyche. I opted to not include a trigger warning for this chapter and I worry the end might have warranted it. Please feel free to comment if you feel that's the case, reader mental health is important to me.
Anyhow, even if the end was rough, I hope you all enjoyed this conclusion. It was a hard chapter to write for me for a plethora of reasons, but I'm happy with the results.
