The day had been long and cold, and even at noon when the sun should have been at its zenith, only the constant torrential rain and dark grey clouds filled the sky. The atmosphere was dark and dull, and those waiting in the rear couldn't help but wish for things to clear up soon.
With there being no clear sign of mana in the storm either, even if the taniwha died no one would be able to tell immediately. The sky wouldn't suddenly clear or anything fantastical like that, and instead everyone would just have to wait with baited breath to see what would happen next.
Been a little out of it in the last while so this was a little tough to write. I think I'm happy with the end product though.
