Chapitre 3: Haha. I in danger.
pov Jack
After we were done eating, we started to walk in search of an abandoned car or a carframe. During our walk I noticed that Marie had a satisfied expression. "You seem quite happy Marie. Was your first experience with food that good?" She smiled brightly and said with enthusiasm "I never knew food was that enjoyable. I really glad you managed to convince me to order my own serving. We should totally do it again someday. *Burp*" She suddenly flushed and I couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Sure we can do it again but I honestly hope that our next meal won't be from a restaurant but made by us since it's always more fun to cook a meal on your own and cheaper too." "Cooking a meal huh? If we get the opportunity to do so then let's try to cook simple dishes like spaghetti for now." I nodded in agreement and we continued to walk in silence because Marie seemed to be deep in thought.
After a while we suddenly heard a shooting nearby. "Let's go to the shooting Marie. I think this might be an opportunity to get a gun and maybe steal a vehicle if they have one." "I don't think we should. It's to dangerous for us." Marie answered with worry. "Marie we won't involve us in shooting itself. We will only sneak around and loot a corpse at the back and maybe steal a car if we can." Marie was clearly annoyed "Fine, but you will stay with me at all times! Do I make myself clear!" She looked at me with crossed arms and a stern expression that didn't allow any room for arguments. "Yes, thank you."
When we closed the distance, we saw a few 6th street members and a small group of scavengers shooting it out. 'It seems like there was supposed to be a trade judging by the van and the briefcase near the 6th street side but they appear to have had a disagreement.' I whisper to Marie "Let's go." She took the lead and we sneaked to 6th street side. We saw a corpse behind a concrete barrier. We sneaked to the corpse but then we heard the shooting stop. There were only two scavengers left and scavenger1 shouted to scavenger2 "Choom we need to collect all the corpses for harvesting, so let's pile them up behind the van!" scavenger2 replied "Sure! Let me get the corpses in the back!" and proceeded to go to us. We panicked a bit and looted the corpse as fast we could. After we were done we noticed that we had no where to sneak of to because the scavengers weren't distracted by the shooting. Marie looked at me with a grim expression and we silently agreed to take them down.
When scavenger2 got close enough, Marie jumped out of her cover and crushed his Adamsapple, by slaming her arm into his throat and managed to run into the nearest cover, while I shot at scavenger1. I only hit his leg and he shot with his pistol. His shot grassed my cheek and I hid behind the concrete barrier again. "Jack throw the pistol to me! I'll handel this!" I threw the weapon at her and she catched it. She then got out of cover and shot the remaining scavenger between the eyes, killing him instantly.
After the deed was done she walked straight to me and pulled me closer. I blushed a bit but it immediately went away after she asked "Does it hurt?" I nodded and she began to shout "Good you idiot!" "I'm sorry. I didn't expect it to be so difficult to use a gun." I apologized but she seemed to be even angrier and shed some tears "You Idiot! Don't go risking your life like this! If you died then I would lose my chance to ever see my sister again!" I then tried to apologize again but she interrupt me and she did look angry anymore but continued to cry even more "Not only that but I would be left alone again. So don't you ever dare leave me!" She then hugged me tightly and just hugged her back without saying anything. After she calmed down we proceeded to loot everything we could and put it all in the Inventory. We got a lot of cyberwaers from the van, a few guns and Max docs, a bit of ammunition and 5k Eddies from the briefcase. After everything was in our inventory we checked the van for any trackers and then we got into the van. We drove to our new home and through the entire drive Marie was silent, but I couldn't blame her for that so I decided to hack the car and make it our car.
pov Marie
When I was done crying, I felt better somehow. I don't know why I felt better but I don't mind. Hugging was also nice. It made me feel welcome, like I wasn't alone anymore. Jack began to loot everything and I did the same.
Before I noticed we were done with looting and went to the van. I went to the driver side and drove us in the direction of our new home, but I stayed silent and my thought ran wild 'After we get home I want to rest. I feel so tired or rather mentally exhausted? All this is so new to me. What should I do exactly and why did I feel so sad at the end? I wonder if I should teach him how to use a gun properly. How do I even know how to use it. Wait that must have been a part of his wishes. Good, at least he was smart enough to wish for something like that. Should I punish him for being an idiot when he tried to shoot? Na, I'm pretty sure that he understood my thoughts about him being in danger. *mental sigh* I guess I'm still feeling a bit sad. Ok you know what, I'll just hug him while he sleeps maybe I can sleep too now because of the upgrades.'
It was dark when we arrived and we parked the van. After we got out of the car we walk to our apartment and when we arrived we saw a woman with a neon yellow jacket and red long hair near the next door. I greeted her "Hello, do you live here?" She looked at both me and Jack and answered "Yes, are you new here?" I smiled "Yes we're new here. In fact we just moved in. My name is Marie and the guy next to me is called Jack." Jack nodded and asked "May we know your name?" The woman introduced herself "My name is Gloria Martinez. By the way, you didn't tell me your family name." Jack then said "We don't have family names because we're both orphans." "Oh, sorry to hear that." Gloria apologized but I said "It's fine. You couldn't have known. Oh my it's getting quite late. We should probably get going. Goodbye, it was nice to meet you." Jack said "Goodbye." Gloria said the same.
After we entered our new home Jack immediately went to bed and soon after I joined him in bed and hugged him. He wanted to say something but I shut him up by saying "I don't care how you feel about this but from now on I will do this every night. Ok?" He wanted say something again but I asked with a threatening smile "O K?" He immediately nodded and I fell asleep soon after.
