Mary was a wreck when Gemma went to see her at her, even though she was trying to hide what she was going through with a smile, Gemma could see that she was very sad.
Finding out that her husband was cheating on her with her friend, did take a toll on her. Her puffy eyes told Gemma, she must have stayed up crying last night.
"I'm sorry for the way I acted yesterday, I was going through it," Mary apologized.
"You don't have to apologize, it's okay I understand," Gemma said touching her arm. They were seated on Mary's porch.
"Forgive me my manners, what would you like to have?" Mary asked when she remembered she was yet to offer Gemma any refreshments.
"I'm good."
"Nothing at all? What of tea? I could get the cook to make you one of her specials."
"Trust me, I'm good," Gemma declined with a smile.
"Okay, if you say so. I hope you didn't get into trouble with Miguel, last night because of me?"
