"She doesn't remember anything." Luke was talking on the phone while his eyes trailed on Remi, that walked inside her Cabin with a puppy in her hand. His room window faces the back garden overlooking the cabin and the wilted flower yet to be replaced.
"Good! Keep an eye on her; I don't want him to find out anything; if she starts fussing, get rid of her this time."
The phone was hung up.
He understood he could only drag this matter. Luke prayed to God that Clarissa wouldn't remember anything. He hates to have to do the unthinkable. However, he has to rely on the person he received the command—regardless half sister or not.
.....
"Young Master, I have compiled all the matters you needed; Young Master Hale will be meeting you for a discussion in the clubhouse."
Arthur bowed slightly, standing next to Roman that casually flipping his tablet for his plan. The wound stitches are itching badly. He has to apply the clear waterproof bandage to prevent him from scratching.
"Have you found the woman?" He placed the tablet on the table and turned to Arthur.
"No, Young Master, the CCTV captured the commotions. However, the woman was shielded from view when the bodyguards were doing the circle, her face mask preventing us from doing face recognitions as well."
Arthur is capable of managing his day-to-day life; finally, after dealing with Selene, he can get his affairs sorted out.
Standing up to leave for office, Roman stood tall at 6ft 3 compared to Arthur, 5ft 8, and clad in his black suit paired with matte black cufflinks; he is the embodiment of perfection. Black hair that was sleek styled and rich, what more can a man like him get? He grew up never knowing the life of the poor, with everything prepared and cared for; a man like him only desired perfect.
Arrogant is an understatement for someone like him, but his arrogance made him desire and lust for every woman in the country.
For the second time, he did not get what he wanted, finding the thieves ransacking his yacht and finding the woman that caused him injuries. He hates failure and wants to ensure there will be no third time.
"The car is ready Young Master" Arthur bowed in respect again to lead him outside towards the waiting car.
During the drive, he checked all the electronic documents that required his signature from the backseat. Occasionally, he would stare at the street where people were busy hustling and shuffling to get to their destination.
"Have you found Clarissa Henson?"
Arthur, seated in the passenger seat, spoke back to him.
"Yes, Young Master, I will personally go to Henson Villa to invite her to Knight's Co. "
"Hmmph...what about the stones I asked Selene to look for?"
"It's all ready, Sir."
This is what he likes about Arthur; he is competent and syncs up when they work together. It made his life more accessible since they had worked together for a long time.
Resting his yes, he has been exerting too much energy to find the culprit, and now he has to deal with finding a woman that brazenly pisses him off. He should have tugged her face mask to expose her right there and then.
He hates it when he can't accomplish a small matter, he hates failing, he hates criminals, and he especially hates uncultured people.
As they arrived at the underground parking, Selene had been waiting at the private elevator with a few stacked cases next to her. She wanted to stay by Roman side; if she could play a little trick failing the appraiser and prove that she could work directly with him side by side, she would trade even a world for it.
The knight is one of the most riches, and yet they do not believe in keeping the marriage strictly only for wealth. They do not require connections or support to thrive, making every woman believe they have a chance at winning him.
His brothers were warned of the illusions of being loved and only settled for those that deserved it. They knew the rules too well, and regardless of no status, the woman they will marry must have an educational background, and not simply anyone could join the Knights family member. However, as a commoner, you would have to be outstanding to be noticed.
Selene knew of this, and she will prove her worth today.
She has been burning the midnight oil studying precious stones, jewelry, and antiques from when she caught wind of Roman and Cody Hale discussing venturing toward luxury jewelry.
Losing sleep for her online class with a professor from Anders, that learned about stone knowledge from the world-famous appraiser that identity remains unknown. Few people in Anders have met the person since most jewelry was delivered to her for appraisal.
Believing in her capabilities, she knows she will be able to win the positions. This is one of the direct companies that will require much attention from Roman himself since he started this for his mother as well.
If she can be on a good grace with his mother, she can elevate her chance even more.
Her deep thoughts vanished as Roman walked towards the elevator; his cologne scent wafted into her nose, sending shivers down her spine. This man is not lacking anything, heck; she is willing to risk it all, even by being his bed warmer.
Trailing Arthur to the private Elevator, she stood behind Roman, enjoying the heat from his body and the scent of mint from his breath when he talked to Arthur, that is, respectfully jotting down his demand.
She is confident she will be successful today, without seeing as eager but rather 'saving them from scam.' She had made her investigations about the Henson illegitimate daughter; she was barely passing her designer bachelor's degree and unable to obtain a job even as a department store clothing brand designer.
She will get this.
