Chapitre 257: Yearning for What's Within Reach

It was many days of the same thing. 

Varya had gone through a dozen ships with no sign of a device that would shut down an entire planet's communication systems, but she knew she had to keep trying until the very last ship was searched thoroughly. 

Basileus found guarding particularly boring but if he got to watch Varya all day because of it, he was okay with it. 

In her frustration that the search was fruitless, sometimes she would tell him to stop looking at her but he never took offense to it. It couldn't have been an easy task and he was in no position to offer his help. He used the spaceships, he didn't build them. However, she was the only person he allowed to talk to him the way she did and he had from the beginning when she refused to call him prince.
