Varya was feeling somewhat defensive. She was protective of the lab and protective of Dr. Brie. Both had brought her so much solace and the thought of putting any of it at risk scared her.

After already losing so much, she was determined to hold onto something that brought so much purpose to her otherwise empty life.

Despite her respect for the lab and head scientist, she still hid her pregnancy. She felt bad that the past couple of years had caused her to lose faith in others, but she didn't know who she could fully trust anymore.

She had become paranoid that the science sector was connected to the palace more than it seemed on the surface level.

Unfortunately, she knew Ebari's idea was well thought out and would probably be her only option in a couple of months. She had run through many scenarios in her mind and it was the only one that would give her enough time.
